Took delivery of a Blue repop Kashi today and to say im less than impressed is an understatement. Its has lots of shiney marks on the top of it and one very large one across the back that looks like its caused by the Rail housings and rib that carries the logo. It is for a rider so i could live with the small marks but the large looks awfull.
Anybody else experienced anything similare with these? Am i being over fussy?

Ebay "Moonster-99" Japan. Haven't contacted him yet, as wanted to check if anyone else had any like this or if it was normal, plus sending back to japan is gonna cost me a few quid and is a pain in the ass. excuse the punn.

One of my OG Kashi's has a similar mark... I think its just part of the manufacturing... :-\

yep ive had a couple of repops and have both been like that ,your pics make it look worse than it probably is but i see what your saying coz i was a bit peeved too , you just have to live with it :LolLolLolLol:
-
It's very noticeable on all the repops im afraid.
You could try dull it up a bit with something like a scotch pad or 0 grade wire wool may do the trick.
I used a scotch pad and while it didn't to the job completely it did improve the appearance.
You obviously have to take a bit of care to not scratch the seat though.

Thanks for the comments guys, its actually worse than it looks in the pics. But i guess its not worth returning, if chances are that i'll get one back with similar issues.
I'll have a go at dulling it with a scotch pad or some wire wool :daumenhoch:

i'd leave it be myself, its a repop and only good for a rider so i wouldnt fook it up cos you'll prob want to sell it soon :LolLolLolLol: imo they are a good re issue really

I've had 4 from this seller and due to buy 2 more soon. This doesn't bother me at all. I like to ride my bikes so in time the rest will polish up the same after my fat hoop's been on it. :daumenhoch:

I guess back in the day there was quality control, now the process is to knock them and make the money ::)
-
all the repop ones are like that ( the shiny bit ) , handy way to spot a repop from an original
-
Sounds like its part of the manufacturing process then.....Bit naff aint it :(

Fookin Shoite to be honest. They aint exactly cheap either at £46 including postage. Wish i'd bought one of those Aero type seats someone was selling on here a few weeks back.
It is for a rider though so i'll live with it.

They are marks from the molds I guess making saddles for over 40 years has started to wear them out! Don't forget Kashimax have never stopped making these so technically not a repop!
