Thanks to stevesredvxr for this 1983 frame and forks with Epoch headset ;). I fell for it instantly and knew I already had a few parts laying about to build it up as a rider, so I made a quick decision to buy it and sell some Raleigh parts to fund the purchase:

I bought the blue tuffs too, but wan't 100% sure I'd use them on the build:

I touched up some minor chips and started to build it on Sunday using the parts I already have, but I will change bits and bobs as I go along. I lightly sanded and polished an SR stem and fitted the Hsin Lung bars I got from 58delrey (thanks bud ;))

With a blue mongoose padset I bought with the intention of using on my US Supergoose 3:

Then with the blue AME rounds Steve kindly threw in the box with the framest :D

With a white Renthal seatpost. It needs recoating, but I just fitted it for now to see how it looks together:

Blue BMX seat:

And this is as far as I have got for now. I offered up some black Araya 7x with NOS Tioga yellow lable tyres and a set of Scott's mongoose dust caps (thanks bud ;)) I think I will use these instead of the blue tuffs for now.

I'm going to fit a Tange BB, stamped Sugino crank, powerdisc (to be coated white), NOS blue Sugino 45t, Shimano blue pedals, blue copy MX brakes (for now) and hopefully a light blue and silver chain.
I can't wait to ride it!

Loving that Jason.
I agree the Arayas look better than the tuffs. :daumenhoch:
Looks loads better than when I had it. :4_17_5:
Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
Steve

I'd say blue tuff's :daumenhoch: spokes would be better but only if they were blue? my opinion only tho its your bike :daumenhoch:
-
Looks to be a cracking build that! Nice one :daumenhoch:
-
Thanks gents. I'm just using parts I have to hand for the tie being so it will mould into shape as time progresses.
Steve, did you ever build the framest up? I'd love to see pics of how you had if you did.
-
Really like this.. But blue Tuffs for me..
Stick up a pic with tha tuffs :daumenhoch:
-
looking good so far, I was tempted to go for this when it came up for sale. You'll know which way to go regarding the wheels when its built, I know which I prefer but its your build, cant wait to see it finished..nice1 :daumenhoch:
-
looking very nice :smitten:
-
If I go blue tuffs, it may look too much like my Streetbeat

tuffs I reckon :daumenhoch:
-
+1 to tuffs - picks out the decals :daumenhoch:
-
It's a race bike and therefore needs spokes...... :yahoo_silent:
Love it. I had a NOS white '86 Cali a few years ago a regret selling it :'(

coming along nicely :daumenhoch: and must admit was also tempted to buy this cos its lovely :smitten: i think they look stunning tuffs and spokes , try the black comp tyres on the tuffs for sure that would look mint :)
-
Yeah it looks good with the arayas i think. If you are going to ride it, then spokes is the way to go. Black saddle and a nice number plate and you'll have a beautiful bike there.

Nice bike Spen!
I've been working on the crankage today.
NOS 45t blue Sugino with machined teeth
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/w265/750Rush/P1060364.jpg)
I recoated a power disc in white and fitted the two together with Proclass bolts. Then I fitted a stamped Sugino 175 crank, Tange bottom bracket and NOS Sharp blue boot. I've saved my mongoose 175 crank for my Supergoose, and although I have another mongoose 165 crank, I find it too short.

I started to fit the copy MX brakes for now...

Stick with the spokes Jase, looks really nice. Someone's getting rid of a straight blue Renthal post on here, that would look sweet on this. :coolsmiley:
-
I did build mine with Tuffs while I was stripping and restoring the ProClass wheels >:D

Where are my shades 8)
I'm recoating the renthal lay back post in white as I need the leg room. But I could use a blue renthal on my supergoose ;)
-
Needs blue araya's , blue DC seatclamp and a blue tuff neck stem . Spen might know someone with said bits ;) ;D
-
Well, I umed and ared about a white/chrome or light blue/chrome chain and decided on the light blue.
A slight change. I've decided to go with a white brake set instead of blue.
I think the calipers blend in and allow the eye to concentrate more on the lines of the frameset. I also like the extra bit of white on the handlebars rather than having everything blue. I've added some chequered donuts and some MX sponge covers on the levers (as I use these on my motorcross bikes and like the feel they provide).
All that's needed now are the cables. I'm leaning towards blue rather than white.

kicking myself for not getting the f+f now.. :idiot2:

Looking pretty damn good fella. Got a set of cheap blue DC cables would finish that off :coolsmiley:
-
Arh thanks Spen
You can just about spot the blue cable I have ready on the chair in the last pic :daumenhoch:
-

(i've made over here from BW after a new purchase.... )

All finished!
I'll have to take some pics of her in the sun when we get some, perhaps next to my other geese.
