Title: New Bike Help - New Skool
Post by: Shings on January 21, 2013, 09:55 PM
Evening all...

AND... a long time no speak to those who may remember me from a few years ago.

I've finished a lot of the things I've been doing in my life and would like to start riding again......  the TRM stays in the garage for sentimental reasons so it upgrade/new bike time.

I've currently got a 2008 Eastern Metal Head ( link to old advert so you can see the spec - http://www.customriders.com/prodshow.asp?prodid=10289&cat=57&parent=1010&sid=3 )

I've seen these on Winstanleys and like the look and the price is in my range, I'm quite happy with last years models etc as I can see the big savings gets me an awesome bike for less coin.

Stolen Score

Your thoughts and any other ideas?  My budget is £200 max as I don't ride that much and mostly I ride because I'm cooler than the people I work with.

Ta

Jake

You say you have an eastern already..
Why not simply upgrade it bit by bit though?
Unless its fooked of course and you need to replace the whole thing

Yeh its a lovely bike I'd just rather buy a new one, not really in to upgrading as I like new toys...

That Amity bike looks very good does anyone have any opinions vs the other 3 I've posted?

PS - Now't wrong with it, I think it'll go on ebay if my friends son doesn't want it.

They all look good deals....esp the Stolen...although I'm very wary about winstanleys as not heard much in the way of good reports about them   :-\

In what respect?

Surely it can't be that hard to buy a bike and them deliver it?

lol

I've had a few bits off w...Stanley's over the years, but only when stuff has been so cheap I'd be embarrassed to ask the rad shop to try and price match it.

I know some people have had shite service too, but I've not had any issues
Use a credit card and you should be covered if anything did go wrong

Have a look here too  :daumenhoch:

Would always recommend stodgy & co. though at the radshop as they offer great service and often have deals on. Try them first and see what they can do for your budget

heres all the things wrong with it

its a hi tensile steel frame
fork steer tube is cromo, fork legs are hi tensile
no intergrated headset
13t freewheel
loose ball bottom bracket

why do mtb companies even bother to produce crap like that!
