Title: first time resto !

Hi all well ive just started my first restoration project its a 1981 diamondback frame number is 1F0347 with a baseball sign and the forks are a baseball sign with DT i know it was built in 81 feb? not sure what the baseball sign means ....america i suppose using my powers of observation :coolsmiley: the guy i bought it off told me he had sanded it down and sprayed it black so i have stripped the forks and it looks like bare metal my question is should i continue to strip the frame by hand or just send it to Superdan and get him to blast and spray it and my next question is what colours were of that era if none should i rechrome it ? i will put some pics on when i sus out this photobucket malarky :LolLolLolLol:any help tips and knowledge will be greatly appreciated :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

I'm sure the baseball sign defined it being Japanese built buddy  :coolsmiley:

just looked through the museum i cant see any pics of blue or red in 1981 there is a mini in white but all the normal are chrome?
