£200 Greg... :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
No ones goona get that for £200,even if he said that.
he knows its an AP,all about JMC,a quick search will tell anyone its worth, one post on bmx talk ???
This will be on ebay within the week and fetch more than a grand.
If i got it,it could be fixed, powdered and stickered for £40,easy job :daumenhoch:
-
prices just get higher and higher andy 1000.00 for unrestored bike .thats a lot of dollar
i know 200 wouldnt buy it really and i wouldnt want it to be totally honest i dont resto or collect em no more at all but i realy cant see what the hype is all about for this rare frame and forks £1000 .just cant see it at all .yu can buy quad, ripper, skyway ta loads of other old framesets that id say are top end and very colelctable for less than half that
-
^^^^ but none of the other frame sets come with those SEXY forks though, sweet little bike that.
Yummy Yummy!
-
To the right person that's worth over £1k, not many around now and that is a Fookin low serial numbered 84 AP.
Gorgeous. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Just gotta find the bars for mine now.
-
still not worth a grand though
-
Should be left as it is I'm fed up with all this over restored stuff.
Great survivor that one :) not that it really interests me though.
-
saw this first thing this morning but cant log on , was going to offer him £500
its an honest survivor and your getting the whole bike , not just the F&F
-
that sounds fair offer wise
-
A grand for the WHOLE bike Greg ;)
Personally i wouldnt pay that, but on ebay the whole bike would fetch that :daumenhoch:
-
i got that andy but i just dont see it lol
so
frame and forks £500.00 ?
gt i reckon bars £50.00/60
dk stem £20.00
wheelset unrestored £60.00/70.00
crankset and bb etc £50.00
seat and post unknown but maybe £50.00
pedals suntiour xc2? £40.00
dia compe brake £35.00/40.00
padset ?£50.00
i cant get to a grand

Maybe im wrong ???
Someone in the states would go mad for it :D
-
Your talking a grand for a good ap f&f :daumenhoch:
-
Your talking a grand for a good ap f&f :daumenhoch:
maybe but this aint a good one, to get that seat clamp where it is the seat tube must be completely snapped otherwise you would never get it past the integral one :daumenhoch:

Or I registered already and am getting Alzheimer's

Greg your valuation on this Frame forks and padset is well below the actual price . These framesets are in a different league
than your day to day O/S frameset :coolsmiley:
Saying " I just don't see a grand " is fair enough but you've not been in the market for one recently or before ,
so won't know the asking prices , or have an appreciation of them . :-X :-\
If a nice Darrell Young frame & forks commands around £750 and DY bars £250
a minty Chrome AP f&F without bars would be around 1000 all day
Look at radman's AP bars that made $1500
Although this needs a repair ,I'd estimate this one at around £700/750
and I've been informed an OG JMC padset can fetch £200 if mint ::)
-
theres 2 prices for this bike. ..... ...............................................................
how CHEAP and quickly can someone get the bike............................................................. well that price has been and gone :LolLolLolLol:
then MUCH can the seller actually get now he realises its got big £$£$£$£ potential............... and the only way to find out that price is ebay :-\
yeah the frame has probably got a snapped seat post , but thats repairable, and some of the parts may not be top of the range, but how often does a JMC AP come up for sale ?
-
like christian and lenny says above the ap jmc is in a higher leagur than your normal quads etc and if you think this guys going to sell it for 2 or 300 quid you need to step away from the bong he knows what it is hes put it on a bmx site and hes been on the jmc site as well so i'm sure hes well aware of what its worth but what a great way of drumming up interest , then saying i've put it on ebay auction and hes got all the potential buyers lined up 8)
-
but this isnt mint or chrome and is snapped not cracked but snapped, no other way you could get that seat clamp where it is unless that was so.
so how much would the repairs cost.... £100 probably to sort the seat tube (not sure what phil is charging these days)
decent chrome job...couple of hundred i would think ?
then its not the OG chrome or paint and having had a repair that must de-value it surely ?
yes its worth more than some of the figures that have been bandied about but i honestly dont think its worth the higher figures either.
those wheels dont look right either, they look like 1.5s to me, or is that just my old eyes :LolLolLolLol:
none of the parts would be reusable on it really as they are only good for a rider.
but on ebay who knows.....it could well top the £1000 mark or no where near due to the damage, either way i hope who ever gets it does it justice cos that is one gorgeous frame set
-
Don't presume it is snapped.
The threads have possibly gone on the factory brazed boss, and the second clamp was probably positioned by spreading it open (uuurgh) and then bending it back (auuurgh) into position.
-
1.5 wheels are a great choice for that year ,,,,as they were the new in size in 84 /85 . 8)
The 1984 2nd gen (small gusset ) Harry Leary Turbo came with Chrome Araya 7X 1;5 's as standard from the factory :daumenhoch:
The repair is a relatively easy fix and worth it , seeing as this isn't a £200 Kuwahara Nova :)
I think the £700/750 mark I said earlier is fair, it may not reach it , but also it could go alot more but that's Ebay ::)
Plus Dan's right we can't presumed it's snapped and it doesn't have to be chrome they made them in White or Chrome only :)
Greg £20 for a DK stem ,,, maybe £35 for a rounded top late 80's 90's one , you've had
but if this has the rarer early gen flat square topped one correct for this 84 build ,,that's worth £100 /120 easy too :daumenhoch:
-

wouldnt have thought you could spread a clamp that far without it snapping, but i guess anything is possible.....
yep the repair would be well worth it given the rarity of this frame, i had the whole seat tube replaced in a frame by Phil for that exact reason, as for the wheels, yep era wise they are right but 1.5s dont make the money 1.75s do and these need a refurb/relace as well.
like i said i hope who ever gets it does it justice, would like it myself but its out of my price range at the moment :(
-

Amazing how a persons naivety can draw out the worst in others...
Even with a damaged seat tube it's worth a big money... as for getting it chromed, put the crack pipe down and step away from the Visa card :idiot2:
It's JMC AP: 333 made, top of the tree quality, rare as funk.
-
UUURGH , open
AUUURGH , close >:D
:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
+1 ^^^^^^^ Bren and Christian have got it spot on. JMC's plough out good money for the seller, they're in the elite of framesets. Repairs are easy if you know the right people and that's IF this needs repairing.
Class frameset that demands a class price.
-
Ooohargh... :-X
no farmer jokes, please.

Just thinking about what you said Andy , about the 1.5's not being worth as much as 1.75's , which true :daumenhoch
But this is good news if you are building a bike 1984 onwards , because like we said they are era correct ;)
The thing is the same goes for Tech IV levers, they're 84 on :) and at least half the price of a Tech III :idiot2:
If you went back to 1984 and had 1.75's and Tech III's on your ride you'd snap someones hand off to swap for a new set of Tech IV and 1.5's :LolLolLolLol:
That's the wheels and brakes on the AP :)
I still can't justify that Elina UL on the JMC though :D :D :D
:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

Has anyone bought it?
200 quid Greg :LolLolLolLol:
Good on ya :daumenhoch:
-
SOLD....i wanna know how much for :D
-
I got the AP. the frame is fine. There are no cracks to the seat post.. the thread has gone though hence the reason it had another clamp on it... an easy fix.
Can anyone shed any light on the bars? 9" high x 27.5" wide
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/uu313/wildon1974/2C52252E-5909-4DFE-934D-2C21D82875E9-8069-0000081363E934AF.jpg)

Cool to see it's gone to a good home and not parted out for a quick buck :daumenhoch:
Hunterdubber might pester you for the seat, he's already given it a mention :LolLolLolLol:

It really don't look that bad.. :daumenhoch:
-
That is ace! I'm so pleased you managed to sort a deal.
I really thought it was a wind up thread.

-
Nice one, Terry. :daumenhoch:
Fancy, the seat tube isn't snapped after all... ;D
-
Any idea on how your build spec's going to be :)
-
Any idea on how your build spec's going to be :)
Not yet .. it's not something that will be built any time soon tbh. Although when i do, eventhough i wont be using many of the parts it came with i kinda like the idea of going with the same colour scheme as a bit of a tribute to its survivor status 8)
-
Clean it and leave it , nice to see a survivor :daumenhoch:
Well done , nice score :4_17_5:
-
too far gone to leave it as a survivor imo .. its touched up to fook :-\
-
The Don strikes again >:D
Great score Tez, ,,,,you have made my day :4_17_5: that ace news
Seat tube not cracked ( as Dan said )
Wheels sweet ;)
That early flat DK looks bang on :smitten:
OG Padset too :coolsmiley:
I'll pass comment on that odd angked blue lump of plastic glued to a seat post :crazy2:
:LolLolLolLol:
A proper collecror landed it ,,,,It's a good day  :coolsmiley:
For foooks sake ,though that's TWO radsters looking for AP bars now :LolLolLolLol:
-
Brilliant Adam :LolLolLolLol:, you'll do it justice mate, as you do with all your builds. Also apologies for calling you Adam on the museum :idiot2: Too many beers at the football this afternoon i'm afraid. :LolLolLolLol: Sorry Terry mate.
-
Pleased it gone to a top collector :daumenhoch:
-
good news on the seat tube, really glad i was wrong about it tbh, guess you can bend a seat clamp out and back in with out snapping it then !
bars look a bit like DB ? dont look right for power wings
-
Result terry well done mate. Loks good cant have been many in uk from bitd was it a pro riders at some point
-
Nice one Terry :daumenhoch:
Top frameset , looking forward to seeing what you do with it .
Great it's gone to real collector aswell :)
I knew that extra £50 on top of the £200 bid would seal it :-X :D
-
For foooks sake ,though that's TWO radsters looking for AP bars now :LolLolLolLol:
We might have to share a set at this rate. :LolLolLolLol:
Dibbs I have em for MK. :LolLolLolLol:
The colour scheme it is at the moment is awesome, almost the same as I'm doing mine.
-
Excellent, a simple resto :daumenhoch:
-
Did you get it for £200 terry ?
-
Love these old JMC's, remind me of my old Shadow I used to race, wish I still had that bike, even had ex-Dale Holmes JT/JMC race pants, wish I knew what my mum did with them!
Off on a slight tangent the only thing that I seem to have from those days is a complete JMC padset, very well worn but all there, is worth anything?
-
Here's some pics of all the touch ups. Really needs to be redone

just give it another coat of tippex
nice kitchen
-
Is that AP16 on the dropout? Hence 16th one made and so on?
-
Likin' that Terry ;)
-
Yep .. 16th one made of 333.
1984 serials are AP**
1985 serials are AP85**
-
i know its got scratched stickers and is touch up but i'd still sooner look at that all cleaned up and the old parts than minting it.
just me perhaps but the mint restored better than new bikes do fook all for me :-\.
nice score though :daumenhoch:

Nice to see it go to a good home Terry.
That paint has definitely crossed the boundary line from survivor to rat mate so you have a clear conscience on that score too. :coolsmiley:

Nice score, didnt know much about them BiTD but have to say they are a beautiful frameset.
Deffo think it is past survivor state.

nice

Nice score, glad it's gone to a good home :daumenhoch:

nice Terry saw it and very tempted like the rest
right place right time for you
its hard when its original to restore it, difficult one,
could you take off the crappy off white touch ups and redo it??
