Ok so i have some parts that ive had to strip & have been polishing up for one of my new builds, I thought about getting them chromed so I contated the local :2gunsfiring_v1: (cowboy) just to check his rates as he wanted £70 just to do these small parts.
Is that the going rate as it seems waaaaaaaay steep to me ??? Could anyone let me know of any reputable establishments who will do a decent job ?
Cheers :daumenhoch:

I got quoted £65 for ONE 24" Araya rim so I think you've a good deal there

The thing is he's shite, i wouldn't use him again but just wanted a barometer to measure against !

There's a lot of prep goes into chroming, and the small parts are probably trickier than a frame or bars etc, so that's not too bad

looking at your bits, I'd mount them polished. :coolsmiley:

That was the original plan Nick & I might still do that, I just thought i check out the prices :daumenhoch:

Polishing is nearly free - the most it will cost is hard work ;)

Not many places chrome alloy and therefore can charge a bit premium
Its also a much longer job/process so I'd say £70 is about right :-\

I concur ;) alloy is much pricer 2 do :(

Chroming is a serious amount of dosh :( .....Shame that its so process intensive! I was quoted around £200 to rechrome a frame and forks.

Seriously ?
Prices really have moved havent they? I remember it being really quite affordable back in the day even for us kids, loads of my friends were having frame sets chromed but at those prices i dont think i'll ever bother.
