Title: New dude to RAD
Post by: jim350i on February 08, 2013, 11:15 PM
Howdee doo dee

thought i would poke my face in and take a peep around. I used to ride a Raleigh Aero Pro BITD and loved it!!. Every minute of every day. No play station (Binatone) no Wii (Atari) and no X-box (Astro Wars), well may be a little Astro wars.

Having 2 lads, started to think i would get an old bike, untill i saw the cost, they've gone up!!!! So i stopped. But the more i looked the more i wanted one. So not wanting to ruin my memory of my pride and joy Aero Pro, thought i would look for the one I wanted. Torker 280x and purchased a frame and forks.

My friends all took the pi55 as im the wrong side of 40 void(0) 1 said, you know i have a GT Pro performer in my shed from 28 years ago. So i bought that off him (in a right state). Set it to the powder coaters and gathering bit by bit. I still need Pro Performer Forks though if any one has any for grabs??

well spotted chapper, I'm a massive fan and brought myself a 350i for my 21st birthday (living at home earning good poke) Italian red with a black hood, biscuit interior. I still love the black pool Wedges and hoping to regain a 400SE or SEAC one day (dreaming) or happily take a Griff, love them, love them!! If i went on master mind, my specialist subject would be TVR's from 1982 to 1991. V8 love!

Thanks for the welcomes folks, overwhelmed. Its nice to get some Torker love. Most people were all for the GT?? Though the GT was (and still is) a project and a wise man said "everyone loves a project" . Project ON!

Have you still got the 350i , any pics ?   A lad i know had a 450SEAC , Blue with a cream interior piped in Blue .  One of the fastest cars i have ever been in ..... evil  >:D  ...... the noise it made was something else  :smitten:    ....... he wrote it off in the snow  :D

I have always had a soft spot for the earlier Taimars  :smitten:

Edit ..... just googled the 450Seacs to see if i could find a pic similar to the one the lad i knew had , apparently there were only 17 produced    I don't know now if it was a 450  :-\  he defo had 450 decals on .  It also said a lot of the 400/420's were updated to 450 spec so it could have been one of them . Either way be it a 450 or a 420 it was one hell of a quick motor at the time  8) .

450 SEAC awesome, awesome vehicle. Arguably the fastest fully convertible car of its time (Aston Martin Vantage Volante being the other). TVR people would not badge up 420 to 450. 420's were fine fine vehicles as they were. Its not like putting an M3 badge on a 320. no no no. Why oh why did your pal take it out in the snow??? Thats like going swimming with pirrahnas in a lady ga ga meat suit!!!!! Only ever going to stack it. They were hard enough to in a straight line in the dry. (on the straight)
Sadly mine got wrote off on the M1 some T#at in an Audi ploughed into the back of me rubber necking at accident  on the opposite carridgeway. Boo. I'll see if i can dig out a pic. They do sound wicked.

Hey Jim welcome to the mayhem,  by the time you've took a breath and realised how much the bmx bikes cost these days you cold have bought another TVR350 mate ......

A friend of mine used to take deliveries to the guy who owned the TVR business ...  My mate also owned a Griff 4.0 he bought with fire damage and repaired.... Noisy fast and bloody leaked when it rained  :LolLolLolLol:

Always been a Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI man myself that's my mastermind sadness too  :4_17_5:

Also liked the 1.9 GTI my big sis had a brand new 1.6 the 1st year they came out (85/6 B) and then the 1.9 when they 1st came out. She asked me to start it up when she was on holls, which i gladly did (and maybe a run round the block.) SShhhhh.

My EVO 2 M3 was my other must have, and did. That was special, V quick and handled like a roller skate. Nogaro silver. sold it for £8K they fetch £20 + now. Booo! But do love my children!!!!!!
