Title: Haro freestyler invert build *update*
Post by: stevepeanut on February 09, 2013, 04:18 PM
My frame has come back from the powder coaters, so I have 90% of the parts I need to build my Haro Invert, its the first bike I have built that is not burner. My lass is happy sitting playing with her new kindle and I have a living room full of parts, a few bottles of Sol, and planet rock on the radio. Nice way to spend my Saturday afternoon.

I will put some updates on as the bike comes together.

Cheers, I need some parts like brakes, chain, grips, otherwise it should go together ok. My aim is to have it sorted for your send off ride.

Minty frame back from the coaters, I never liked the teal colour that much, so got it white. The plan is to have red parts like brakes, seat, grips etc, with little bits of black and silver. Put the bottom bracket and steering tube bearing cups in place, and a seat clamp.

Next up the forks went in.

Then bars and stem, crack and chainwheel, seat and post. The post is a spare one from an anniversary burner, it will be getting replaced with a longer one, or maybe a layback, eitherway its tiny and not much use.

Totally love this group one stem

I put on some alloy hubbed skyways, with panaracer freestyle tyres, looking like a bike now, not that much more to do, need to sort brakes, grips, chain. Del is on doing my decals. Its on hold till Friday when I get paid, then I will finish it. I can't wait to ride it.

The only thing I am not sure about is wether to fit the gyro, inverts had them as standard. I think maybe the bike looks better without one.

Not done anything this week, but Del called round at my house with some custom decals that he made for me. They are proper good, I almost didn't want to take them off the backing sheet. I got my lass to fit them for me, she's got steady hands and an eye for detail.

She was too, took some advice from Del and we got a plastic garden spray, with a mix of water and washing up liquid. Spray a light layer on the bike, then the decal can be moved or took off without any damage.

Yeah just push any air bubbles out and its sorted. I wouldnt go out straight away riding, maybe one might move if you knocked it. I guess its best to leave it overnight though, to properly stick.

Looks cool does that  :daumenhoch:

I'd cable tie that rear cable up and run the front through the stem bolt but all's good  :daumenhoch:

Johnny, yes I was taking my time with this, then went on a mad spending spree so its ready for Winis ride

Pickle, I still need to tidy the cables, but I might well end up with a gyro and then run the cable through the hollow bolt for the front with a backwards potts brake, but that will be next month.

Only 2 things I dont like are the pedals, which were some spare cheap ones, and the red seat clamp, its the wrong shade of red compared with the other parts, I might get a plain silver one to match the stem.

Bit of a change, I am having problems with the skyways so had to change wheels, here is how the bike was with red alloy hubbed skyways

Here is how it is now with black redstone mags, but I still think I might change to white skyways when I get the money.

Well I was never 100% happy with the red skyways, due to my home dyeing not working perfect, they cribbed the bike being the only none perfect part. The black redstone ones looked ok but still not right. Just got some white skyways and the bike looks so much better, I had chosen white skyways as my wheels when I first thought up the colour scheme, very happy with it now.
