Title: BLEACHING GRIPS??
Post by: deeman on February 11, 2013, 05:29 PM: I would like to know if it possible to bleach a pair of white grips which are nos but have yellowed over time?.Or would it be possible to bleach a pair of actual yellow grips white?Will the bleach eat away at the rubber and will it make any difference to the colour.Someone must of attempted this!Any help appreciated

will have a think but see if you can do a search on it over there !

you can't bleach out a yellow grip to turn it white :-\

bleach will not affect the rubber on most grips, unless they are left for a very long time - they some fading may happen and the grips may soften up

but if they are actually yellow grips they won't go white :(

Thanks Ed,I am trying to get hold of a nos white but yellowed set atm.I was looking at the yellow ones as a substitute. :daumenhoch:

I tried bleach on a set of fuan grips and while it cleaned them up a bit it left them with a slightly greasy feeling.

One bizarre thing i have had a bit of success with on random things is a full tube of steradent (or equivelent) denture cleaning tablets :crazy2:
