Right finally got them all home and for the first time all in one place! Had actually started forgetting what I owned!!
So question is now where do I start? I know a good start would be to actually start bolting stuff together instead of just taking pictures.
I have had a little go at the haf tonight, temporary wheels until I can find the set I had put together for this build, they seemed to have vanished!!
Does anyone know where I can get a grey khe lamello tyre?? Pulling my hair out

What do people think of the bash guard?? I know why would you need to have it with a grind disc but quite liked the look of it?

Nice collection! Nice 88 beat you got there :daumenhoch:
-
Sweet rides there fella, love those homeless frames
-
Awesome collection!! Personally though.....That WAL Riot just looks out of place in the whole collection, its probably best knowing this that you sell it to me :) :smitten:
-
I see 2 wal's
Great collection. It will be nice to see them built up. :daumenhoch:
-
Yeah I have missed my street beat! Love it, apart from the nicotine yellow bars!! Need to get them properly powdered. Also wanted one of those sharp bb boots, used to always see them for sale until i wanted one! You have two don't you? A red and an aqua one if I remember rightly? Really wanted a red one. Was going to buy one from Alan's a few years back but missed out.
Need to get that soul bro built! I love it. Got big plans for the pornstar but it will have to wait its last on the list at the mo.
Haha you will be the first to know mate. I am definitely sending the one against the back wall to the chromers. Was going to powder the other black and do an early one?
-
if you ever wanna sell your HAF give me a shout mucka.
lovely collection of stuff you got there 8).
-
Nice pile of bits there :daumenhoch: Not wanting to pish on Your chips but I think that HAF is actually a Prolite, a copy of the S&M. The V brake & cable stops give it away.

X2 sadly - rear drops lookn wrong n'all. I know they made a shorter TT HAF for the eastern market, but still don't think they had canti's and cable-stop.
-
I remember going upstairs in the old Cyclesport shop years ago & They had a built up One in Black with Prolite decals and One in Yellow, stickered up as a HAF, I said at the time "that's a bit naughty!" I don't think They had many made, it was a 'prototype' apparently.
An old Ride mag scan, not sure how well this will show up, I've got a better scanner now so could possibly do it better.

The later HAFs had an S&M stamp on the back of the top tube, to make it clear which ones were real ones. :daumenhoch:
-
Alex, do You know if S&M were not too bothered about the HAF getting cloned as the Sabbath was then coming out?
-
I know they put the stamp on the frame to clear up any confusion. Im sure they didnt like the copy HAF frames.
I think S&M were used to it by then, what with companies buying "slam type" bars from the Far East catalogue and putting their own stickers on them.
-
Personally I think you should build up one of the wal's. then sell the other to Gavin. :daumenhoch: :4_17_5:

:daumenhoch: As for the bars, I'll bet companies actually started up just to make them!

I think that is one of the bestest ideas on the whole of Rad :) ...if not....THE WORLD! :daumenhoch: :smitten:

Cheers for info guys,
Yeah I know the s&m is a bit of a weird one, apparently it was a special order with a 21.5 top tube cable guides and rear canti mounts.
The guy I bought it off got it with various other goodies from a guy that bought the entire old shop stock from i thought he said custom riders? But if it was cycle sports old stock then maybe it is a fake! Haha
It has no stamp on the rear is there anything else I can identify it on?? I have just had issue 10 out of ride 'fat bikes' and drop outs look the same also gusset and platform etc.
He did tell me that all haf's were produced in chrome and then over powdered. This one definitely has as a little bit of yellow flaked of when I put the bb in. It's a really nice job and the thickest powder coat I have ever seen.
I think the guy I bought it off is on here?? He is definitely on bmx museum as this very frame is on there. I will go and check it out.
-
Guys name in the museum is radror
-
Deffo check it out. The drops are a slightly different to a HAFs - also mine's original yellow, and it's not chrome underneath.
Here's mine for reference - pop a piccy up of your drops :)

I'm 99.9% that's the Prolite frame I checked out in Cyclesport, even down to the oversize cable stop & welded on noodle on the t/t. S&M didn't make frames in house back then so the chances of getting a custom done was slim I would have thought. Painted S&M's were bare metal underneath as well. I'm sure Alex can clear this One up though :daumenhoch:

Radror is Rory on here:
http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1579
He originally got that frame from Generallee (Steve), maybe give Steve a pm and get the history behind it. I'm sure there was no intention when you got it of any funny business - sound blokes :daumenhoch:
-
nice collection,i have a homeless mack mk1 and later edition mack like the player era plus a pornstar and player
selling them all if you want a near full set.

Ahhh. I KNEW I'd seen that frame before. I remember when General Lee had it. He totally thought it was a real HAF, although I thought at the time the canti brake and cable guides were strange. Rory is totally sound too. Not on here much but is on facebook. Not really doing much with BMX at the moment but he still has some nice stuff.
I'd not seen that prolite magazine test. I guess Steve and Rory didnt either. Its so shit that cycle sport were doing that.
I have a "custom" HAF that I think came from Cycle sport (again, via Steve. He used to go in there alot and have a good rummage for stuff). Mine has a normal Chainstay 990 brake setup but its got a short top tube. Now Im wondering if its another CS fake :-\. I cant remember if its got a stamped top tube.
I have had a few HAFs. Some were chrome but some were raw, so never chromed. Ive never known S&M to chrome frames before powder coating. Why would you?
Hope some of that helps.
-
Love the pornstar.... :smitten:
-
I spoke to Steve Wilson last night. He remembers the Canti mount HAF well, and was very interested in the fact that it might be a fake one.
Hopefully he'll be dropping by soon to add his comments :daumenhoch:

Phew, I check last night and mine DOES have an S&M Shield stamp on the back of the top tube. :)

just to reiterate on what alex said that rory is one hell of a sound chap,he wouldnt have known about the haf issues or he would have mentioned it
he just isnt that kinda guy,i will stand by him and his word.
cyclesports did a few rip off re stickered frame including standard shortys. they always used prolite copies.
-
I've been talking to Rory tonight. He isn't at alp happy with cycle sport for selling a fake S&M.
He is struggling to log on to rad so he asked me to post for him :

Fook Me, what have I started :LolLolLolLol: had to be called though if it is a bit dodgy. (regarding it's origins, not Rory or Steve)
