Title: Dp freestyler forks to small for bearing race.. Help
Post by: spadey99 on February 22, 2013, 12:59 PM
Hi guys

As you know I bought a dp freestyler and thought I wound start the build today. Got a few headsets so went to out the bearing race on the forks and it was far to big!!!!  :(

Tried a few more from other headsets and all the same far to big and slop about.

Do I need a certain one or size? Just want to get on with my build.....

Cheers

it happens mate, cut a coke tin down and pack it out around the bottom of the forks and drive the race on - best fix...

Although bottom races often don't fit and need either filling or packing, is it defo bmx headsets you are trying?
Normal bike 1" headsets are a different size to bmx 1" headsets

I had the same issue with a DP Freestyler.  Coke can trick is the way to go:
