hi my mate has brought round a gt mach one bmx looks in original parts etc the serial no is SY5D000495 can anyone help with dating
the chrome has rust to it it still has dc pitbull calis front and odessey bulldog rear or vice aversa
has decals on it as a mach one but the frame is the same shape a a performer?
the rims are aloyy same as araya but no stamping and have 10mm axles

the frame is stamped GT and as said above its all looks original parts apart from grips as they are redline
he wants to sell this and ive looked on the tinternet for info to no avail i havent done a build for over a year and seeing this fancy rebuilding it so can anyone also give me an idea how much in this state its worth ? the frame has suffered heavy pitting so wont polish out

If it's the same shape as a Performer then if it's a GT it's a Performer.

thanks for reply nick i thought it might be a 95 due to numbers in seriel # but it is a performer ? and decals wrong as they look original? and any guess on how much to offer him ?

The mach 1 was an entry Level race bike. Its an after market decal set, you could buy them off the shelf back then for most models. I had speed series decals on my Fueler.

The original Mach One was exactly the same f&f as a Pro. Just the level of trim was different.

im not sure about your entry level ! mach one was usa made, full cromo and a great frame to ride .. i had a 93 !

Not saying they werent good frames to ride but the Mach series were entry level race models. The pro series and the later Speed and power series were the top line racers.

bobbsssyyy i think from serial # ive put in 1st post its a 95? but not sure ,and as the serial is on bottom bracket i think its made outside USA

Nicks information answers that question.

in listing its a performer so i take it a performer
just noticed the rear bars to drop outs are a different shape ? will make a difference?

They are BOTH PERFORMERS. The one you posted and the one on flea bay

a mach one is a race bike with straight tubes its a performer of some sort .. we have a resident gt analist called costa. he ll know for sure. serial number shouts 95 yeah !

thanks nick for your help , i havent done a rebuild for over a year as i been focused on a vespa , until he brought the gt round now im itching to take this apart to rebuild it , but i havent a clue how much to offer him and it makes it worse as its im my shed sitting there :-\
if anyone knows of a ball park figure i can offer him that or give it back for him to put on ebay .

that model in that condition won't bring more than 50 notes in my opinion

i think its orig spec .. offer him 40 and if he dos nt look happy go up a bit .. needs work but thats half the fun. id say someone would pay near on 85-100 for it !!

thats a 95 vertigo, performers had the cable guide on the down tube, all vertigos were on the top tube

spoke to my mate today told him how much he prob get for it and for a diamond back mid school he had come to an agreement that i will tart up the diamond back and get the gt for my trouble , so i have a nother project on the cards :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

I don't know if I'd be confident riding that GT too hard.That is seriously rusty :-\
