just out of hospital as i mashed my spine a tad, made a decision to reduce my bikes as i cant manage them all.
hips shagged, now backs damaged,so getting them down a nightmare,so having a select set would be manageable
as i can put them in the spare room, but im looking at alot to sell which i hate doing.
gimme some ideas if you have any, ebay 1 bit at a times not my thing,or should i try to move it in one go..
Dan

List em here and watch em go Dan, ebay for what dont go, its a ball ache but at least they should go to good homes :daumenhoch:
Sorry to hear about the bones n joints buddy :(
-
First of all healing vibes Dan :daumenhoch: secondly must be an awful situation to find yourself in looking at your collection and thinking its time to let some stuff go . be a lot easier for you personally if someone walked up with a nice wad of cash and wanted to buy it a a job lot . more realistic is moving it on in either lots or bit by bit either way always best to sell here on RAD without "ebay fees" :'(
-
Hope youre ok Dan :(
Personally I would make a list of your most favourite ones.....then keep them. All the rest I would get rid of as quick as possible as you will only change your mind.
-
Sorry to hear about your back.
Don't think there are many people out there with the dough for your collection. I think you will have to part it out or at least bike at a time.
Hope you will still be able to roll in some way :daumenhoch:
-
eBay international auctions will get you the best price for your goodies IMO. I'd release them, a bike at a time too. Splitting them will be more hassle than selling as a lot but it will be worth it in the end. :daumenhoch:
-
I second shifting it on here then ebay what doesnt sell. My back is also buggered, hurts like eff to ride these days so I've just ordered and a real nice new school S&M speedwagon to roll around on til I cant ride no more which most probably isnt too far away :'(
-
shit dan i hope you heal up soon petal :)
-
Bud, I had my hip replaced last year and I also had to have my pelvis rebuilt as the ball joint literally went through the back of my pelvis. Years of wear and tear until it collapsed... :'(
Anyway my point is that 3 months post surgery I was walking Disney World in flip flops from 9am until 11pm trying to keep up with my 8 year old son - I did that for 2 weeks and all that hurt was my feet, prior to that I hadn't slept without 800mg of Ibuprofen for over 6 years!
Unfortunately my other hip is degenerating but once you get your head adjusted to what you can and can't do you can still enjoy your BMX even if its just flatland cruising :daumenhoch:
I don't know you bud or your situation so i'm speculating about a hip replacement but feel free to PM me if you want :)
Chris
-
already had both hips replaced, they need doing again..boooo,now my spines crushed.
-
Dan you are a fooking inspiration to me buddy, anyone in the amount of pain your in should really moan like a b1tch, but I never hear you moan. Do what ever makes you happy buddy :daumenhoch:
-
already had both hips replaced, they need doing again..boooo,now my spines crushed.
They need doing again! I've had a new type of prosthetic called the Exeter replacement which is ceramic, they haven't been around that long but i'm hoping for at least 25 years out of it. Its designed for the relatively young patient as they can take a bit more impact.
I'm sorry to hear about your back, is it an injury or has it been compensating for the lack of mobility in your hips - for me its my knees
-
Sorry to hear about your dilemma and injuries Dan. :'(
-
mine are metal on metal hips,i now have metal in my blood,so damaging my kidneys.
had 4 ops on my knees awaiting another.not sure why my back went but it was spotted on my mri .
going in or a mars scan in a week.
-
Sorry to hear that Dan, I know where You're coming from with a knackered back :( if You are set on selling a lot of Your stash off maybe get Someone to give You a hand with it all? It'll be too much for You to do by Yourself by the sounds of it, healing vibes old bean :daumenhoch:
-
Well I wish you all the very best with your scan and I sincerely hope its a big step in the direction towards a pain free future
-
Healing vibes Dan :daumenhoch:

Hi Dan
Sorry to hear the news.
However, I have a cracking idea for you. If you are really downsizing......
It's time for Brandon 2013. Just like before over a long bank holiday weekend, with camping, freestyle, music, a ride out to the old track and ramps, and fun at your Studio.
You can have your own show and shine inside, behind a rope barrier, with prices etc and deal without having any issues. People can buy there and then and also take the item so no worrying on packing up and couriers, photo's etc.
The other Brandon event had a good number of people that attended so with your collection on display and bikes for sale you should shift a few.
You would also not have to worry about continually going up that bloody ladder and hurting yourself.
Take care, we'll have to meet up again sometime soon.
Hoping the Escort is coming on well.
J.

don't think many will buy a job lot ,espacially now kappy has stopped buying ;D
-

i am not that near to many so travelling might be hard.

-
The bikes aren't important, you & your health is. :daumenhoch:
-
As the others have said Dan, healing vibes sent your way :daumenhoch:
-
Sorry to hear your back's now gone mate, hope they can help you out with it in some way :daumenhoch:
I'm not sure what would be best - I'm selling a bit at a time by ebay. It's always going to be a ball ache, however you choose to sell unless you go with gem's idea and also set up stall at MK?
-
Best of luck for your future health Dan. :daumenhoch:
-
Best wishes Dan, your a positive chap, and sure you will march on :daumenhoch:
Good idea with MK on the horizon, pack the van and go home bike less :daumenhoch:
-
So sorry to hear this Dan , i wish you all the best and keep smiling bud :daumenhoch:
-
best wishes on getting your body sorted. back's can be a tricky thing.
i fractured mine 10 years ago cycling to work when a van hit me. luckily with time i made a full recovery and continued to ride again.
hope you don't have to sell off too much of your prized collection as we all love our bikes, but those you do i hope you make some top dollar with.
:daumenhoch:
-
thanks denny,my poxy knee went today out o the blue, nearly went through the roof,
i have put away some keepers, chad degroots shorty just got hung up.
-
Sorry to hear about your troubles Dan. Hope it doesnt keep you away from the Escort for too long. Im really enjoying the FB updates. :daumenhoch:
-
hope you get yourself sorted Dan, cant imagine what it must be like to be in permanent pain.... although I do have 3 kids so do have some idea ;D
-
crap news dan :( :(
wondered why u hadnt posted anything on facebook or here for awhile, thought u may have gone in to have your hips redone
if you need any help sorting/selling etc... just ask, i know you weren't looking forward to sorting it all when you were healthier so must be worse now
maybe worth doing a few job lot listings on ebay for collection only or if you can get someone to take a load to mk or other events and sell for you
-
i will get some escort updates done, trying to shoe horn 400 horses in takes time, but its ready to drop in.
bike wise also trying to gather a plan of attack
-
good vibes coming at ya dan.
man you've suffered over the years i know with your joints.
really hope they can sort you out soon mucka.
-
Hope you're feeling better soon Dan!
-
Take it steady mate.
-
It,s a sh1tter when your health fails you :-[ i know its hard sometimes, but think positive mate, i,m a big believer in it.
Iv'e had back surgery nearly 3yrs ago and a hip replacement one year ago.
Luckily i had a ceramic hip and touch wood its been fine. Unfortunately i now have arthritis in my lower back and will be on painkillers for the rest of my life "BUT" it wont stop me fook1n about on kids bikes
:LolLolLolLol:
