This bike isn’t fully finished (as you might spot) but its built enough to have a few visits to the skatepark on it so I should post up some pics. I’ll probably take some more details photos later on but for now I have got a couple of snaps of how it is.
I never put the brakes on a new build till last, and I know they are always a bit of a ball ache to get right so I took the bike for a pre-brake roll. I love brake tricks and I’m already missing Fu’s and Nosepicks but you don’t really need brakes at my local skatepark cos it’s a bowl with flowing hips and lines. I’m really enjoying having to go full speed at everything (I’m a sucker for scrubbing a bit of speed of, and then wishing I hadn’t) but the brakes will be on soon enough.

Yes Alex, that looks grand. Nice touch with the stickers too.

Thanks. I wasnt too keen on the "Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms" name so I came up with my own.
And I don't like all the marijuana Leaf Shields about so I did my own Shield too.
Much more Me. :daumenhoch:

Totally! I knew it was gunna be all black so chose to use a red stem. I wanted a few other things to be red, and started to look for tires with a red line (not red wall) but I really like the United tires, and the red wall looks way better than I was worried it might.

That looks great! Nice one bud :daumenhoch:

That looks super sexy Alex :daumenhoch:

That's lush Alex, sure you ain't going brakeless and getting down with the kids ?

Looks great, brakeless bikes always look clean and uncluttered :daumenhoch:

How are you going to get a brake on there Alex? Will the chain clear it?
-
nice one mr l
-
looks classy that, like it a lot :daumenhoch:,
how do you keep the chain tension with the captive dropouts? built in tensioners? not clesar in the pics, popeye arms the wheel nuts? ;D , or are there spacers available? mmmmmmmm opportunity for some lathing perhaps..... ;D

I have offered up a brake and I think it'll fit. I always run a bit of off cut tyre on the top of the brake to stop the chain clattering, so it might well be running on the tire a little more than it has before :-\. Im sure it'll be fine.

I have a little something in mind. I was gunna drill and tap built in tensioner bolts but I didnt want to risk messing up the dropouts. Im getting something made, it should be done this week. I'll post up pics soon
(along with pics of how perfect the peg lines up with the back of the dropout :smitten:)

cool looking forward to seeing that ,
done the same on my ns got to have some bits that you made on yer bike :daumenhoch: , got a set of keyed washers on mine made from busted primo lolly pop tenstioners , fills the gap between the axle and the dropout so no movement forward , big blob o weld and 10 mins with the dremmel :daumenhoch:

looks very nice in the second pic alex :buck2:

I took a few more pics of my bike this weekend, now that a few more of the parts have come.

those plastic sleaves aren't holding up well Alex ???

I have been using them quite a bit, on concrete, but they dont last that long.
You can buy the plastic sleeves for about £5 so once you have rotated them to death, you pop on some new ones. :daumenhoch:

That's great how it all came together so flush at the back Alex. Just noticed your pitchfork stickers too, nice touch.
Have you got brakes on it yet?

Yeah, it all worked out real tidy. My forks only came with one sticker so I had to dig into the sticker box for the other side.
Nope, still brakeless. You dont need brakes to blast tables in my local bowl, and Im still lovin that. :) :) :)

Yesterday I got the chain tensioners I designed. They are little wedges that sit between the axle and the dropout, and they have grub screws so they are adjustable. They work the Left and Ride dropouts, they fit under pegs, and stop the wheel moving forwards and backwards.

Last night I fitted the rear brake. Its not fully sorted yet, I need to change the brake hanger. There isnt much room there so I need to try and find / make a really short one. For now I used an oddy one but I put it on backwards cos it fitted better (with the pinchbolt behind the straddle cable). Not perfect but it'll do for now.

Tires are great, I love um. So far they are great on Smooth concrete, dirt pump tracks and wooden ramps. All good :daumenhoch:

I sorted the brake hanger out. I cut a normal one down so it fitted.
Here's some pics of the full brake setup
