Post by: Matttherigger on April 03, 2013, 02:17 PM
Hi  this the viper i have just gotten hold of. after a long time of debating i have finally took the plunge and bought a old school bike. any suggestions or advice on the build would be greatly appreciated (try not to be to hard ha), as this is my first dip of the toe into this kinda project. heres some pics hope you like.

Sweet looking ride there Mr the rigger. I'd loose the grifter seat and the padset maybe swap the bars for chrome then use it as a rider first. get the old feelings back from when you were a kid.

Then realize your 40 odd yrs old riding a kids bike, go out and buy a cruiser an sell this to me  :LolLolLolLol:

That's good place to start Matt - just like Sam said - make a few changes and she's done. There's some nice bits on there already  :daumenhoch:

...maybe swap the bars for chrome ...

if those are then new version Skyway bars... and they look like they are... then they are chrome under the black... time for some stripping  :daumenhoch:

nice first purchase.

Yep, IMO loose the seat and change the bars to some chrome straight bars and jobs a good 'un.

Then look back in a years time and wonder where all the other bikes come from  ;)

As said before, the seat and pads need to go!I would probably change the bars too for some chrome straights rather than strip the EZ's.The standard bike would not have come with tuffs but I really like it with them on! :daumenhoch:

I saw this on Gumtree and thought about buying it myself.  I'm guessing you're from Tyneside?

Did you pay the full asking price?  Looks a really decent buy for that sort of money - even better if you knocked the seller down.   :daumenhoch:
