just chucked a Springfield onto my rider...
soon as I tighten up the bolts on the brake mounts it stops working... my brake mounts are well short of the top of the brake ... so I can't tighten them up?
any ideas :)

Talk to the LLP :daumenhoch:

Model shop and a bit of the right gauge brass tubing as a spacer collar is the easiest fix Ed :daumenhoch:
-
What frame is it Ed?
-
Don't tighten them right up, you don't need to.
the w4nky spring does the goods on these, so no need to nip `em up.
Lenny has a big bag of elastic bands for next week when the spring snaps!!!

Not used the springfield myself Ed but cant you just loosen the bolt....tension the spring like a mofo and lock the bolt back down?
-
You haven't got it on upside down have you ed ? See one the other week

It's on my supercross Rob ... You just can't tighten it AT ALL.
Bit of tubing or some new mounts sounds like the way.

Stick a 990 hombre on it mate :daumenhoch:

that could be it Pierre ... I put it on facing down like a 990 ... will try it the other way up :daumenhoch:
-
hold on ... both arms are the same ??? how can you get it upsidedown?????
-
Haha
I put mine on upside down at first and flipped a right rage until I realised the bolts weren't long enough because it was on wrong.
Just flip it over Ed.
Oh and get to Asda for some laggy's.

Finally got to sit down and look at my brake ... Master Pierre was of course spot on - I guess thats the benefit of being one of the chosen ones with the halos ... you are always right :daumenhoch:
... which was confirmed by the LLP representative 8)
Turned it over and all is well.
So I call BS on the review I read which said they were cheap as the calipers were from the same cast ... no way if both sides are recessed for the bolts when mounted :crazy2:
Had no probs with mine when I went for a spin today .. even when they were upsidedown ^"^

I had this with an oddy evo2. Mine was the brass inners of the u brake were too long. The bolts and washers are supposed to tighten to the lug on the frame. Mine just crushed the brass inner.
