Title: Headset help ! Now sorted
Post by: 80s bmx on April 05, 2013, 09:12 PM: Started to build my sons bike today and had nothing but trouble trying to fit cups. Dremmel helped in the end but the problem I now have is that the fork stem is to short. Or am I making a school boy error here, wrong headset ?

Head tube length: 103mm without cups
Fork stem: 127mm

Any suggestions ?

Just put it together roughly to begin with and it looked long enough.

I know those headsets and it does make a difference.

also: In the 2nd pic: things look as if they weren't fully engaged yet... ?

and in the 1st pic: .... it might be possible to get some extra lenght/threads for the locknut by grinding off a bit of the adjustable race (the 'washer'-looking thing at the top of the headset) ...?
