Title: an early low ender... scorpion.
Post by: meticulous on April 14, 2013, 08:34 AM
1980- 1981  (not sure exactly),  but these 2 speed bmx's were sold 'up ere in norf',  a mate of mine had one exactly like this,  never seen another though,  a suntour holeshot 2 speed system that operated off a brake lever style shifter,   you set off holding the lever in (first gear)  then released once you got up to speed for the second gear....

I think Daryl young trialed one way back on JMC.

All the other Racers hated it.

Thanks guys,  pricewise it was quite expensive tbh in 1980,  about £150,   which in todays money is about £550,  so it was equally as expensive as some mongoose bikes which were always classed as a higher-end bike in 1980...
The second gear was pointless to be honest unless you were on some of them steep downhill race tracks they had in southern california...
