With little Little on her way in August I thought I'd try and get a couple of bikes built up before all the chaos ::)
Had this frame set for 4 years and done nothing with it other than admire it or keep it in storage, so I figure let's get some parts on it. 8)
It's part inspired by Mike King's BD III and part tribute to the late Sandy Finkleman (pioneer of BMX and founder of one the coolest race teams and shops ever Wheels N Things).
I'll be changing a few parts before long like the wheels for some 7b's on Phil Wood hubs, grips for Oakley .5's, the 44t chainring for a 40t and I'll probably take an inch of the cable and I might add a race plate at some point. Other than that it's one of my fave vintage SE's 2 of these are known to be in the UK so it's a pretty rare thing :daumenhoch:

Thanks for all the comments :4_17_5:There's a lot of love for this bike both here, over the pond and down under so to say I'm over the moon with it is an understatement :daumenhoch:

Rich it's 2" shorter than a PK Ripper at 17. They are small frames and the same dimensions as the mini Ripper :daumenhoch:

The Vintage era bikes are amazing to me, and this one is awesome. I'm just getting into the 1970s history at the moment, watching Joe Kid on a Stingray etc and reading up on the early days of SE.
A fantastic proper BMX 8) :4_17_5:

Take a look in the Vintage section theres some great clips in there from the early days and if you want any info on the roots of SE just fire me a pm :daumenhoch:

Made the first of the changes and changed the stem to an SR mini, looks loads better imo.

looking slick 8) but is the chain slack ?
are you gonna rope cows with that cable ?
-
Yes the chain is slack because the wheel's only finger tight and I've taken about 12" off the cable too so it looks....normal ??? ;D
