Title: stem bolt thing

how do i know what one I need?
i have one of the the star nut things braised into my forks

 :) If it`s brazed into your forks then chances are you need a threaded bolt not a starnut.What forks do you have ? There are several aftermarket topcaps available.

I got them with a kink frame I got off ebay.

Have you checked to see if a standard m6 allen key bolt fits it?
I can't check the ebay link at work, but the smaller standard bolts are usually for mtb's. (Some cheaper bmx forks use the same size)
Some manufactuers use a slightly stronger and larger bolt setup, I think 'BLANK' produce an aftermarket 'star washer' which uses the larger size. These also fit some early Hoffman forks too that have the threaded part welded in.  :daumenhoch:
