I remember reading in Ride a few years back that Raleigh wanted to do a chrome BMX again but at the time couldn't find a place to do it in the quantity they wanted. They reckoned the dealers were asking for them. I assume though that they meant bike dealers....  ;D

Hoffman said the dealers wanted chrome bikes too, but he didn't think they'd sell, they'd be cut price shopfloor specials in no time, so they never got made either.

raleigh made bmxs in the mid to late 90's

a friend of mine has a raleigh "alacantra spin" or some crap like that, from 1996
lol, they also made a model called a ferret. that was a truly unfashionable name back then.

they were average bikes of the day. beginner bikes, but no hooptier than GT or mongooses beginner bikes.
but in true raleigh style, time stood still in the design office and now they are offering the same stuff but with new stickers.

blimey... there's a saying, about dead folk not looking good when you dig them up. Guess that goes for the poor old burner.
