Title: Goose Gold Stem to restore or not?
Post by: bmxbardit on April 29, 2013, 10:21 PM
I have a Mongoose double clamp Gold stem with original Maurice decal.
The gold finish is good and in tact on the flat platform on the top and below but has more or less rubbed of down to the max line revealing the silver finish below.
the clamps and bolts are all in good order. Therefore should I get the stem restored with a new Gold finish and loose the original decal in the process or leave as is?

OK, finally, I hope, I have figured out how to let you guys see the goose neck ;)

hopefully this should work, link to photo bucket below:

It's a long time Ash & my memory ain't what it was  :LolLolLolLol: , had it re-plated in brass as they were bitd  ;) . OG bolts cleaned up & clamps saw a quick wipe with solvol autosol ( these clamps are often over polished as you know I'm sure ) . I think the base was done by a company in bedfordshire .
