Title: Late 70's goose experts needed for crank help
Post by: Jazzchimp on July 30, 2006, 12:39 PM
Astabula cranks... do they take a different bb to other cranks?

Trying to put a standard BB on and it seems to be the right thread but it's mighty tight. Didn't want to force it.

Mongoose used to run 28tpi BB's whereas most others are 24tpi - this could be the problem  :daumenhoch:

Yep, just been on Alans and came to the same conclusion, but cheers anyhoo.

Oh and cheers danny, must say it worked for the chainwheel side but you can only do so much with a hammer and a vice!

I kow Biagio had the proper Mongoose 28tpi BB sets for this a while back.

Might be worth a look on his site.
