I took Daniel to the track today and thought I'd join him.
I rode a new school bike for the 1st time ever and loved it. It was one of these, an SE PK Ripper Elite XL BMX Race Bike :

Daniel put his mongoose pit crew aside and tried a Haro junior which he loved too, just like his Raleigh top!. The bikes were both so light!

We're both signed up to the club now :D

superb!! 8)
wish we had something like that around our way :(
-
Fantastic :daumenhoch:
Good Father and Son times :4_17_5:

I did get some smiley punches on the arm and a couple of "I love you Dad" comments!
It's a Clark and Kent built track and great coaching with Mark Seaman.
Daniel is doing well, but I must look a bit of a joke.

Never! You're being a good role model to your kid and anyone else. Being active and doing stuff like this is a billion times better than all the sad sacks sitting on their arses watching reality TV or whatever it is people do these days.
-
Nice one! Is that the Merton track? :daumenhoch:
-
Thanks for that John, I do admit I really enjoyed it 8)
That's the one Matt, just down Acacia Road in Mitcham.
-
Being out on your bike with the kids = Happy days :)

I spent 2 days over the bank holiday weekend riding with my boys, one at the local outdoor skatepark/bowl and the other at some beginner level trails. I wouldn't swap those experiences for all the money in the world.

I know exactly what you mean.
The beginner trails look great. There are some big jumps near us like that in Nonsuch Park, and in Sidley woods, Bexhill when we go down to the coast. Both too big for me to ride yet alone Daniel.
-
nice one! Mitcham i one of my local tracks, hope to see you down there some day. tried to take my son along on his micro but he wasnt enjoying it so i'll have to curb that though for a while
-
Nice one Jason,i wish my dad had done more stuff like this with me.He built my bike but that was as far as it went :daumenhoch:

Same!!! I'm spending so much more quality time with my daughter riding both on and off the track.
-
Fingers crossed we'll both be back there on Thursday next week medved :)
I may take one of my geese to try on track too.
-
Hey J, great stuff mate :daumenhoch:
I wish my daughters were old enough to get into BMX. I will just have to be patient though and enjoy them while they are still young :coolsmiley:
I have been reading about the Merton track and will organise a meet with a few of us. It is my understanding that it's available on Fridays between 4 and 6pm for a 'free' session yes?
Do you need a helmet and safety gear for a roll around or do they loan it out mate?
Cheers
Terry

Here is a video of us both at Merton as promised. He's on his mongoose pit crew and I am on my chrome and gold mongoose cali. Just a gentle roll around together with some passes and a high-low with him winning ^"^
The sun was out, they sky was blue and we had the whole track to ourselves. My wife Eva took the footage on her mobile and it's a bit wobbley but gives you the idea.
