So this turned up from Mr HMOON today and thought I would have a play with some wet and dry and auto sol......
So stripped decals off and went to work with some 400 grade wet and dry, all over twice, then 800, then finally 1200, all over 3 times except welds of course......
Then a quick tickle with Auto Sol, Im quite impressed as the Auto Sol was just a quick blast over not hard scrubbing..... Dont want a mirror finish but im impressed with how it looks,,, will start to build this weekend...
Let the pics do the talking..... :smitten:

Thats turned out great :daumenhoch:
How long did it take you?
-
done a good job there man :daumenhoch:
-
it took 1 hour or so to sand as did whole bike twice with each grade and 3 times with 1200...... It got rid of loads of imperferctions as well... I was amazed as soon as I got the Auto sol out it started shining so well..... Another bit of peek later and it will be mirror like if thats what I want...... I think its shinier in real life, the pictures make it look a little duller, it really amazed me..... Gona look good.... :smitten:
-
Lovely that look forward to seeing the finished shine :daumenhoch:

Woah, i dont normally like that model of ripper, but the way yours looks with the odd gold bit, and especially those pale blue decals, is really cool. You got the parts just right to distract me, that's what im trying to say.
Well done, great bike.
Can i have a go mister?

-
Thanks guys, it has come up better than I expected and next to my re chromed TA and shoe Cali doesnt look out of place..... :smitten: Tip though.... look at cranks, they still have black on them, mid 90s GT 3 piece I think they are but caustic soda, Oven cleaner etc will not remove the paint....... Any tips as I sanded the rest but couldnt get in too nooks and crannies......
-
Looks a nice rider :daumenhoch: , glad you did'nt go too mad on the frame polishing either ;) .
Only thing I might change , the baby blue decals get a bit lost on the frame .
-
Yeah I know what you mean about the decals mate.... I ordered them before I had fully decided on what was going on..... I think plain black would be fine as the baby blue is just why, nothing else is blue etc.....
Any other thoughts on colour???? :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
