Title: New School 24" Freestyle Bikes
Post by: James Nada on May 11, 2013, 01:47 PM
Does anyone have experience of riding a NS 24" Freestyle bike? How do they compare of a 20"er.  I've plenty of Cruiser experience on the BMX track but never freestyle.

I'm thinking a general "all rounder" (park, trails, pub, a bit of track) could be the bike for me.

There are some nice 24"ers available - Sunday model c, s&m dirt bike, stolen saint...

Opinions please.

Only Gregster's Model C which is a big, roomy bike for sure but beware as the back end is extremely short. TBH for what you've suggested I think you would be best going for a steel framed 'race' cruiser like a Dialled, Standard, S&M, or a Supercross maybe (I've got a steel Supercross 20", and my dad has Mad Dogg's old steel Supercross 24").

You can do virtually everything on a decent cruiser that you can on a 20" but the cruiser will always be a bit slower turning, slower to lean over at the park etc etc. Riding a 20" bike that actually fits is a revelation.

Sunday model C it's what it was made for

The short back end Jon's mentioned will make it more park friendly  :daumenhoch:

Good points Jon. I was thinking the S&M Dirt Bike would kinda sit between track and park.  I have heard the 20" dialleds are fairly versatile so logic suggests their 24 would be too.
