Title: My New Standard Trail Boss
Post by: jonpaul11 on May 15, 2013, 09:12 AM
I can't wait to get this built up at the weekend.

I had to wait 12 weeks for this to get shipped then get through Gibraltar Customs. All other parts are new and boxed...

Saturday is going to be a good day.

Very nice. The only standard worth having in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing the build here. Do you live in gib then? Do you know many other riders there?

I work in Gib but live across the border in Spain. I don't really know any other riders out here.

Cool, there's a pal of mine who lives and works in Gibraltar, damn good rider, mostly flat but holds his own on street and miniramps. Knocks about in Malaga mostly, he says there's a good scene there. Anyway back to topic, how are you going to set the trailboss up and what are you going to do with it?  :)

finally built up.

Trail Boss Raw frame 21"
Standard Race Forks
Standard Strip Bars 8" rise
Standard Top Load Stem
Profile 175 Cranks, Proper 25t spline
mainly Odyssey  parts (BB, Headset, Brake, Chain, Twisted clear pedals, Arron Ross Grips)
Fly Bikes Trebol Wheelset (I was running over budget so went for an Alans Sale item...)

It's a lot lighter than I thought it would end up and I'm very happy with the end result.

thanks for the comments.

it took 12 weeks to get here, I ordered all parts from Chain Reaction or Alans and it's my first new school build. I'm really pleased with the way it has come out.

I went out on it last night for the first time, It's very light and very easy to manual. It's going to take me a while to get used to such a low stand over height.

I want to go to the local trails this weekend but off on a business trip Monday for two weeks and worried I might fall and break something and miss my trip!

Awesome. Really like that.
Mid school frames are comfy, tough and look great. Better than the indistinguishable frames of today. I have an S&M Holmes set up with (almost) newschool parts and its my fave bike to ride. A true all-rounder. Much like your trailboss i guess.
Good luck with riding it mate.
