I love how the old school guys think anything made after 88 should be bought for loose change or left in a dumpster.  :LolLolLolLol:

Wtf!
Quote
As a guide, it costs £100 for shipping to UK mainland (excluding Highlands) with insurance for £1,000 - £1,500 value band.  Likewise shipping to Australia is £250.

To be fair, if you get a quote to ship a complete bike, approx weight 30lbs, insured for £1000+, with a courier like DHL, UPS,  or FedEx it will easily come to £100.00.

Are you saying his Aus price of £250.00 is unreasonable? Based on what you just said it sounds quite good to me considering the size and weight of a F+F, bars, and hubs is vastly different to that of a complete.

Why do people bid so early on in the auction, i just can't get my head around it.

If i see something i like i work out what i'd pay for it then bang that in when the auction has nearly ended.

I'm not on about this ebay item just ebay auctions in general

Idiots, never get that either!

I think a percentage of them are shill bids anyhoo!

Bru

the only thing is by bidding it up at least the auction runs till the end as if stuck at 99p you do think do i sell private

That is still a bargain. I would say it will probably fetch around £1800  :daumenhoch:

even with bids it still can be pulled up to 12 hours before the end.

i was just mainly saying that i can't see the point in bidding till the last few mins

but yes it could be down to friends bidding it up

I agree.  early bidding makes no sense if you actually want the item for the best price possible.   :daumenhoch:

If people know what they want for an item (roughly) - why don't they just put it on as a BIN?  Saves all of this shill bidding and auction-pulling BS doesn't it?

Aren't the ebay fee's higher if you use a bin price

40p for a BIN - anything from free to £1.30 on an auction style listing depending on your starting price.  The final value fees are 10% on both listing types so no real difference there.
