Title: wheel axle setup
Post by: Pottinger on May 28, 2013, 09:44 AM
hey all

sorry for a real basic question here but ive tried searching and think im getting myself confused  :-[

I have a pair of original skyway tuff ii's (rear is alloy hub) and they came with no spacers/bolts ...

Can anyone give me a heads up on fitting....

ie
from what i can see the front looks like it should have some spacer both sides on the inner side of the fork and the securing bolt
on the outer side of the fork ...

The rear looks like you slide the axle straight in the frame follwed by the securing bolt on outside of the frame ...or are there spacers somewhere on the rear too ??

Also, what size bolts are they ?

I am so sorry for such a basic question but I dont want to add just any old thing in the hope its correct, so any help is
very much appreciated...

cheers

cheers for that, still a little confused tho  :-[

looking at mine, the axle parts are fine, just the attachement to the frame and forks im trying to get to grips with lol.

looking at pic 1, i presume i need the nut and serated washer ?
does that washer go inside or outside the frame ?

sorry to be a pain  :'(

cheers

I would put the nut and a washer outside of the frame drop out and the rest inside.

most bike grease will be fine

thicker if you want to keep it sealed more and lithium if you want it to spin faster

cheers  B  ;)
