Hi I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some general advice please. Last week I had a crazy idea to buy and rebuild a BMX. There are two small issues with this idea. I've never owned or even ridden a BMX and it's been easily 15 years since I even rode a bike at all. I do spend most of my time tinkering with stuff and I've just finished building a car and I have found myself nothing to mess with.
Being new to it all I did a bit of research into size and then jumped on ebay to look for cheap BMX's local to me. I found one cheap, locally so stuck a bid in and won it for £20.

It didn't have any information about manufacturer or model but I managed to figure out its a 2011 Saracen Amplitude Wave which from reading up isn't that great of a bike but it was fine for my first one.
I want to give it some new paint and modify it a little bit. My main question is if I spend money on new parts are they easily interchanged onto other frames if I wanted to get a better frame in the future.
I stripped it all down last night ready for paint.

It was so easy to work on compared to the cars I'm used to. I should have got into this years ago although looking at some of the top end bits it's not going to work out alot cheaper than messing with cars.

Can't go wrong for that sort of money :daumenhoch:

Alright Simon ... welcome to RAD
You got a project there :daumenhoch: at £20 I don't think you really got a bargain... thats about what its worth... but have fun with it and make it better than it was
How heavy is it?

Well yeah after looking round £20 seemed about right for what it is but I mean for £20 I wouldn't mind if I decide to bin it or just sell it on.
Will a lot of parts I buy be inter-changable if I decide buy a better frame at some point in the future? Pedals, wheels, chain brake handles etc?
Weight wise. I'm not sure as I have nothing to compare against having not handled a bike for a long time. I did think it would be lighter carrying it built up but I was surprised how light the frame and bars were just on there own.
