Title: Redline rl20II frame and forks value?
Post by: threaders on September 18, 2013, 08:14 PM
Hi. Seen this on the bay and wondered if any one could give me a rough price guide?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Old-school-BMX-1985-Redline-RL20II-frame-and-forks-/261289627111?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item3cd6134de7
Would really like one but the seller has turned down my offer,  which was a bit cheeky. :-\
I don't think I have seen one for sale before so what do you reckon? I was thinking around £250 ish, but am probably well out. I might put up a wanted post :daumenhoch:

As it is Neil's, this will get shill bid to high heaven but, you would be looking at nearly doubling your estimates given in previous posts for one as mint as this  :)

What makes you think he's shill bidding?

Why do you think he's shill bidding he has desirable parts and offers worldwide shipping so attracts the bigger market.

Your too suspicous Terry :pilky:

I'm not a betting man but i'd put money on Subwax only having one ebay account. This whole community knows he only deals in top notch stuff which is worth a premium. Well nearly all evidently.

Don't know him personally, but he does have some lovely stuff for sale. He sold a VDC Changa frame & forks for £1500 earlier this year. It had been restored & re-chromed & looked mint. The last 2 Changas on ebay sold for £1025 and £676, and both needed minor repairs and/or a re-chrome, which would bump the cost up by approx £200 per f&f. If he is shilling up his auctions, I wouldn't say it was by much, if at all. The selling price on most of his stuff seems to be the going rate in my opinion, based on the quality and condition of the parts. Just my thoughts. Anyone dealt with him?

Why does he sell top notch stuff like this on ebay? he's making them a fortune ??? does he not offer stuff to forum members here or on other forums? If he did he'd still make good money, ebay wouldn't get the % of his sales which now inc's postage :2gunsfiring_v1: or does he not frequent bmx forums?  ???

I would use ebay too if i had some of his gear . I know they take their cut  >:(  ,but some of the stuff he sells is ' un-priceable' hence the 99p starts & worldwide shipping ,massive interest & everyone can have a pop at getting the goods. I dont know him but i would also say no shill bidding going on there for me.

As already said  you would be very lucky getting that frame set for £250 ,its and easy £350-450 frame set all day long.

3 or 4 years ago these were worth big money. It'll be interesting to see what this one goes for.

He will get far more money on ebay for his items - its that simple, even after taking off their %.

Its a no brainer.

Lovely frame set  8)
