Hello all, finally picked this up from Senzo on this forum, I have no idea what it is but its very light as one of the photos shows and needs a re chrome, but I really want to know what Ive got so I can at least put some decals on it. Im happy as a dog with two dicks as this is my first BMX since my Firebird Dellta II back in 1987. Any help would be gratefully recieved

Blimey that was very quick, thanks a million for that very much apreciated :)
-
stidd's probably right i guess, but can we have a pic of the brake bridge please, as it -i know this sounds crazy, looking at the welds, drops?..- as it looks astonishingly similar to chromeys early Cyclepro over on vintage :D

yeh, could be a '82 Cycle Pro Macho .... like this one f.ex http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/cycle_pro/41606
forks Akisu though :-\ ... so i'm just wild guessing :D as always ... à la 3 hole gusset, drops .. same bike
-
Its identical to that cycle pro frame

Hope this helps

Im going with stidds on this as Ive just seen an Akisu A Pro on the museum that the guy has owned since 1982 and its also identical to my frame, as is the cycle pro! confused.com, to be honest I cant even remember them from BITD and I was nuts on BMX back then, maybe to many bangs on the head in the years since then :)
-
It could be either really, I was just going more on the forks keeping the frameset as a set.
Very nice frameset whatever it is, I likey :daumenhoch:
-
Nice looking frameset. :)
-
Absolutely ;)
Not saying it's a Turbo Macho (! ;D) ... could also be the early Greg Hill one... or the Akisu Sean and you mentioned (do you have a link?),
...but i did find a Cycle Pro with a 8 digit serial and also starting with '310...' as yours does:
"31039185" (http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=4349989) .
yours contains this # "31086686".
You could start a thread on museum like "Frame ID - Is this a Cycle Pro MACHO ?/ Greg Hill?"
and write chromey on vintagebmx.com a pm with a pic of your bb/serial -- ....if you manage to log in to vintage...... (They have some issues with that ::) sooner or later you'll manage to get in for a while..). Perhaps one of those bb's are more similar to yours than the other.
Turbo Macho Turbo Macho :slayer:

Ha ha Turbo Macho, sounds like a second rate male stripper. I do like that cycle pro the forks look good in that colour and I will have a look on vintage bmx tonight and try and pm him. I get the feeling that this going to be yet another but very enjoyable hobby
-
The rear drop outs both have 3 holes but one is curved and the other straight ish so they are not the same frames?
-
you mean these?
... hard to say from this angle and pic, but i'd say curved.
And i simply refuse to say that Turbo Macho has three holes and is not straight :yahoo_silent: Ha!
-
i think someone said this one was an 1985 ?
edit: think the full name would be 'Greg Hill Street Legal' ... and pics of em can be found on museum
->f.ex GhostRiderGt's 1984 http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/cycle_pro/48111/4
->or here on the bay recently serial# "40211730" (item# 221267008135)
...just some pics incase yours turns out a Greg, so you get an idea about decals.
Judging from chromey's early Greg Hill frmes might NOT have had own forks, as did also (Tange then tho..?) earlier Turbo Machos
-
Cheers for that, I think the forks on mine are different to the one you have put a photo up off. They are sloped at the bottom and mine are flat. I will keep looking on the museum and see if I can get anything else off the internerd :)

looking forward to this - neat old school frame ;)
