Im after a few bits and had a flick through my saved sellers list on eBay....
Skatepool are selling Odyssey Cobra seat for £49.50  .....im pretty sure a month or two back they were around £16??
There are also a few other parts that have seriously jumped in price that ive seen......so is this the start of the crazy prices? A lot of mid school stuff now sells for more than most old school stuff? :(
-
50 quid... Woah. Just trying it on i think.
I can't imagine they'll shift any of those.
-
It may not be such an inevitability...
-
I see your point Gav and it will pobably happen at some point but that WAL Riot went for a reasonable price t'uther day :daumenhoch:
-
Skatepool have also inflated their prices of mid school kneesaver 2's and old school Hsing Lung bars to £55 a pair too.... :idiot2:
I always thought their prices were pretty reasonable :-\
Maybe its the seller and not the Mid School market afterall? Seems a shame......

Wtf???? Thats ridiculous! Thats one of the parts I need :( ....i remember selling one a while back for £12 lol

it was simply a matter of time "wantit"
Is it bollocks. Just a few people trying it on.
Don't think it'll ever get to the Old School price stage as there weren't as many people riding in the 90's compared to OS to have that nostalgic 'I want my old bike back', that gets you hooked on building.
There'll still be the odd item from mid that'll command a higher price as peeps are reluctant to let things go etc but tbh there doesn't seem to be as much of a 'item goes for this amount' for 90's stuff compared to OS stuff. Guess what I'm saying is peeps will pay what they want for an item they want.

I remember some clowns thinking GT profiles were worth £250 not so long ago, it happened with Dirtbike and Holmes frames for a while too, as Danny says, just people chancing their arm.
-
...that mean old school's getting affordable again? ;D
-
mid school is a odd one, mainly it is people trying their luck
the average price for a mk2 dirtbike or a mk3 holmes frame is £125 posted
now ive seen em go as low as £50 for a mk2 dirtbike needing a little work to a mint one being priced at £175
most of the rare mid school frames like a 1in sta, shorty or lengthy, mk1 holmes, mk2 holmes , mk1 dirtbike, mk1 challenger etc... dont really ever top more than £250
people will always try and get as much as possible which is fair enough, its upto the buyer to do a little research and see if the item is really worth that much and if they are willing to pay that extra amount to own it there and then or wait till a more sensibly priced one becomes available.

that's just 2 bike companies, there a wealth of awesome stuff out there. theres 3 reasonable HAWK frames in the US and a fookin bargain Hyper metro and our own hazzajoe has one of the ultimate riders n long frame icons for in the sale section at just over a 100 snots. Mid will get where o/s is. people paying a premium for fairly common fodder while the real gems get over looked. se haro skyway S&M standard (with the excepting of rarer early models) are all fashion victims IMO and prices will rise n fall accordingly

Loads of good mid school stuff can still be had for not much money. :daumenhoch:
You got to remember that Skate Pool and Vertego are not the market place. They are just 2 sellers tryng to ream every penny out of the last of the shiners stock (which was their life blood). Now that Shiners has all but dried up they obviously trying to save for retirement. :LolLolLolLol:
Shop around and you will be surprised what you can find.
