Gutted i had to saw mine out of my Rickman so that i could sit the frame straight & get to work removing the alloy seat post with caustic soda before sending the frame off to be chromed.

The problem with the crank was that the pedal had pretty much welded itself in to the arm & I couldn't get it off  (tried everything i could think of but it would not budge & I couldn't remove the crank without this coming out so i took to it with my (Rage) rip saw.... Made mince meat out of it.

Why didn't you drill the pedal spindle from the back of the arm, then tap the remaining metal down off the threads and remove that way  :-\

Can't believe you cut the arm off bro. Those cranks are hard to come by as no-one sells them.

Long story but my bench & vice had broken as had my drill . The only option with the tools i had to hand was to cut it off as i was working against the clock & needed to get the thing packed off to get chromed & i still had to get the seat post out with caustic (something else id never done & didn't know how long it would take)

Couldn't cut through the pedal spindle as i was on my own & there was no way to secure the frame or the crank arms whilst taking to it with this  !

The Pedal ate my drill bits, 2 of them & then the Drill burnt out , hence the reason i cut off the arm ... it was the ony choice i had & after losing a drill to the fooking thing cutting it in to bits felt gooooooooood  :LolLolLolLol:

Got to be honest cranks are not something i'm that bothered about anymore. was spending a fortune of flight cranks , but when it comes to 1 piece cranks a  £9.99 savage or diamond back looks the same as most 1 pieces from back in the day. Just depends on the build & how special it is to you i guess & what suits each build really.
