Can anyone remember where the old track from bitd was?... i'm not sure if I've got things correct, but i'm under the impression there may have been two.
-
I've got a feeling there were 2 as well. The one used in the 80's was still being used late 90's. Can't remember where though.
-
Cant remember the address but it was by the water tower :daumenhoch:

Odiham?
-
no... know exactly where Odiham track is... went back there about a year ago. did a walk around the entire track(filmed it on my phone) .. think I've found the rough location after Nikki's input about the water tower(somewhere off of the A287.. Odiham Road)
-
think I might be close...

the water tower is just above the "m" of Odiham Road

That's it. I remember it being surrounded by trees and Sandy Hill Road rings a bell.

Bad news by the sound of it. I live in Farnham so I will pop over and take a look at that track on the Google link, it looks quite long to be a bmx track no?

I remember the Farnham track well, it was next to the council estate on sandy hill..... trouble is in the 90's the local kids just used to ride there motorbikes all over it and that was the end as far as I recall. Great track I used to be over there with all my mates at weekends or in Farnborough on the half pipe.
A local guy from Hook tried to get funding from the council to restore the Odiam track but was turned down, but that was about 8 years ago.

That's a shame, there was still a good track there late 90's/early 2000's as I went there a few times on my mountainbike. Got the scars on my arm to prove it after coming off on the gravel!

I pass by there every day (work and back) and see mountain bikers going in there on the odd evenings (by the water tower/reservoir), so maybe it's something they've carved out. Be interested to hear what you find though if you do get down there :daumenhoch:

These are the photos I took today, there is the long flat track created by tracks that look like MX Bikes, the BMX track to the rear of it has gone.
