Title: curtis on ebay - tis a shame!
Post by: Sid1972 on October 14, 2013, 09:40 PM
Why,why and why again.

Curtis on ebay being split into frame sale and forks sale.

Blows my mind....

Hope the same buyer gets them or it just puts another frame into the mix. :'(

Happens a lot on the Museum with TA's. People pm'ing the seller for a fork sale with ridiculous offers, the seller splits and the frames are then just left with no one buying them. I have never understood the mentality of splitting frame and fork sets to be honest. 'Tis a shame f'sure  :yahoo_silent:

Is that because you bought a frame from someone who sold just the fork Chris  :D

We've seen this a million times and everyone says it's to maximise on the profit but I can't see the logic  :-\
Personally I wouldn't bid incase I only ended up with half, I'm sure I can't be the only one that thinks this way.

So it's six of one and half a dozen of the other

Will you get more profit from splitting into two auctions? Or will you get more profit from having twice as many bidders?

I pity the fool that splits them and lists the forks first  :uglystupid2:

By the way....  There's a guy splitting a set of reproduction VDC pads on eBay into three if anyone's interested  "nono" :LolLolLolLol:

Cool  :coolsmiley:

I've got a couple of Curtis builds on the go at the moment too. Slow going though as parts are hard to come by. Especially the pro bar's, been looking for a set for years, but they're very rare and fetch top money when they do come up. Mainly because they were never as well made as the f&f sets and were not made from t45 so didn't last.

Good luck with it though and i'll look forward to seeing its progress  :daumenhoch:
