Guys,
Just bought a General Lee frame of Retro. I want to restore it but can't get the decals (spoke to DK in the US, was told I had no chance ;D :D).
Anyhow, I can't find it but I'm sure one of you stars posted a way to get the decals off in a good enough state to get repro's done!
Can ya help ?

are the decals laquered on like the new gt's? if not warm up with a hairdryer & peel off, the residue thats left will come off quite easily with meths or lighter fuel
-
Not easy but this is how it's done.
Lightly tip lighter fluid (you can get this at most fag counters) into the corner of the decal you want to work. Then using a scalpel or super sharp knife lift the edge. Then pour more lighter fluid into the underside and keep lifting allowing the fluid to soak in.
Another tip is to use a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive which has a low melting point.
Lighter fluid is the best stiff though.

So assuming that I can get them off, any ideas where I can get them repro'd?
Thanks
Stace

Unfortnately not.
Spoke to a guy at DK in the states and he mentioned it was only the first run of frames that had the dodge car on the decal set.
