Been looking at this for a couple of days now thinking something aint right.
It's certainly not a 280X as its missing the front gussett. The back end is to high and the shape is wrong for a 280X also.
So its it a ProX? Well didnt the ProX have a little bend on the bottom of the rear dropouts? And the seat tube is a country mile away from the bend on the rear seat stays?
What do you think?

I initially thought maybe a European copy like my gen 1 copy, but the welds are way too nice to be a copy, I think it's something else entirely

not a 280X and not a ProX for all the reasons you've said, plus the gusset it has looks bigger than the Pro X I have, and if mines a copy it was yours originally and I want a refund :pilky: :LolLolLolLol:

but it is an 86, my 280X is 82 and my pro X is an 84 so he might be right as I am sure ive seen later model 280X's on the Museum

There's a few about, I've seen about 6 or 7 others over the years. I think Bodamus has one and Diggler.

On a side note: I just tried to clean those two blobs on digglers picture above thinking they were kids bogies on my screen.

Oh yeah, you learn somat new everyday. I know you bike Bob but obviously hadnt looked at it closely.
I did have a look in google images and didnt find owt like that. Fair plays

The chrome on the ebay one looks good. Mine was a Stock complete that was hardly used when I got it and the chrome is mint :daumenhoch:
