Guys, what should i do? Been really busy with work this year so not had much play time with the bikes or got much riding in. As Terry has already mentioned, good parts seem to be drying up, Rad and the museum both seem quieter then i recall :-\ and i find myself getting tired of some of the forum bullshit that normally doesn't bother me.
I have 3 builds on the go at various stages of completion and a few little home brew ideas bubbling away too... yet i find myself thinking "i cant be arsed"
I really dont want to leave the hobby as i have enjoyed it thus far and met some cracking lads. I thought about just having a break from it but i know i would just walk into the man shed one day and bang the lot on the bay before i found my way back.
Sorry, i know we have all seen this sort of thread before and i should know the answer but i just want the feeling back :-\

Was at this point myself back in July, but went to MK, had a couple of months away from building (spending) and got out on my mountain bike more.
Doing the build I'm in the middle of now has fired me up again.
If you really love the hobby, the love will come back. :daumenhoch:
-
Sell it all
Then either you'll come back in a few months and want back what you sold
Or you'll take up knitting :)
-
As Dan said if it's a genuine love for it then no need to be concerned.

You could try roller skating
-
You could try roller skating
I hear there are some bumders oop north organising a roller disco
wear your chaps
-
You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd.
-
3 builds on the go? concentrate on one and leave the other two.........maybe because you're not giving enough attention to one you're not feeling any of them ???
we all feel like this at least once a year i think, have a break and leave em all for a while :daumenhoch:

Lock the shed up and have a break for a while. See how you feel after Christmas :daumenhoch:

Sell it . I think the site going down a few months ago had a big impact on the scene . I know ive not been bothered since . Im just waiting for the right time to off load . I think the shill bidding on the bay is driving people out the hobby to .
a torker frame went for silly money a few weeks back that needed a re chrome and had been repaired . A oringinal one went for half the amount the week after .
Hoobies at its lowest since in the 8 or more yeard ive been in it .
-
It happens to us all, just take a break from the site and do other things for a while.

What happened to the car you was doing Toyota super was it
Wasn't that Tachicoma that was doing that? ???

I'm not losing the love , just pissed off with everything at the moment .. :(
I'm putting down to the fact I'll be getting up for work in the dark and getting home in the dark for the next fooking 4 months ... That's a Cnut .
I Might buy a winter project .. :)
-
Sell some bikes / projects (but always hang on to one or two).
I started to lose interest when I had too many projects. When you have 3 bikes on the go + other completed ones piling up it starts to get a bit much. You still love it, but it starts to feel like a chore to get them done.
Ive now let go of a few bikes I thought I never would, and plan to let go of another 2 or 3. Having the cash in hand, and the room for another project definitely keeps it fresh. Im starting a new build this winter and am really excited about it.
-
I'm not feeling it much at the mo :( hoping the crimbo do might sort that tho ;) Not bought sod all since MK  I know its bad :tickedoff:
-
It will always have its ups and downs just like any hobby, but I know this much you can't beat the rides on those hot summer days.
Just have a break as you can guarantee if you get rid of bikes you will regret it at some point.
CRAIG has got the hump because the sun has gone in and B&Q have run out of creosote to top up his tan :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

A lot of moaning yes, but its only done by a small number of people. ;)
I think the rest of us are just tired of hearing it, so we off here and in our sheds doing what we always have, buying & Building. :daumenhoch:
-
Don't sell it, put it away until The Sun comes back in April and finish those builds off before MK!
I nearly sold everything this year, glad I didn't!!!!!
-
Sell one & buy a New Skool & ride it, I think missing the riding it what got most people back into the collecting, I think I've had around 50 old skool's, built everything & more than I ever wanted, but now I just like to ride.
-
:D Well you know Im having a joke midschooljon :D :LolLolLolLol:
It was because as I scrolled down the thread It seemed a bit doom and gloom :-\
Negative threads , breed negativity . :crazy2:
As has been mentioned by others ,,if you think the scene is a bit stale then make a positive contribution . A cool, link ,a good joke , a Reeto . :smitten:

But you can also ride an old school bike ;)

If you've taken time out of a regular hobby to concentrate on real life for a while it not a bad thing as I have done the same at home and not touched a bike for a while now and to I look at the 7 bikes I have built up in storage and my other three frames boxed up.
That said I would suggest you leave them alone until the enthusiasm returns and if you find yourself feeling the same in summer then maybe you should put them in the loft or sell up and no doubt you will have found another interest by them anyhow.
Get a fun winter hobby

Exactly. :daumenhoch:

Get involved in the wider sport, help out with your local trails/park/track/whatever, it does you good ;)
