Had an hour spare today while glue went off and with the recent thread about hanging bikes on the wall i decided to have a little play around with some offcuts :LolLolLolLol:
Not finished yet but you get the idea :)

I did the bar hole at 30mm so it will cater for most top tubes.

Thats foookin brilliant :4_17_5: U could sell them I recon ;)
-
top work, I'd go for some. :4_17_5:
-

-
Thats great :)
-
You never stop messing about with stuff.
Great skills. :4_17_5:
-
Cheers fella's, quite pleased with it for an hours mucking about. :)
Drilling the angled hole in the race plate was probably the only fiddly bit. I drilled a hole rather than cut the shaft at an angle so the stem can be mounted on a top tube then just slotted in the hole.
-
Nice work dude :daumenhoch: Looks great :4_17_5:
How is the shaft joined to the base of the clamp and what do the clamp bolts screw in to?
-
The shaft is glued in a hole bored through 3/4 of the stem base. The bolts just thread into the wood. Its oak and if tapped properly will take bolts really well :daumenhoch:
-
Are you a carpenter ? ;) Best time of the year when you are a carpenter
Very nice job :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
-
That would make a nice trophy :daumenhoch:

Couldn't resist having a play with it today, threw my Kool clamp on to see what it looked like against chrome :)

:4_17_5: brilliant top bit o fiddling :daumenhoch:
-
Forgot to say, the clamp nips up really well with no sign of the frame slipping against the oak. Could probably lye the frame parallel to the floor :daumenhoch:
-
Quality skills :4_17_5:
-
Nice one! If I had anything worth hanging up, I'd be mithering you for one of them :daumenhoch:
-
Clint that is ace :daumenhoch:

That is just such an outstanding idea for a wall stand.
Very clever indeed.

Fantastic Clint
If I wasn't renting I'd love one
and there is the slight issue of having a floval top tube!
would be fantastic for hoarders sorry collectors of handlbars (or bike shops) - you could have a column of them all on display
