Title: Surface rust?

Any advice on stripping surface rust from chrome,heard a few people use vinegar?also best product to make chrome nice and shiney,thanks

You can use vinegar, Oxalic Acid (wood bleach), Silver foil, jewellers rouge.

There are actually a lot of ways of removing surface rust.

I've used vinegar on a few bits with good results..leave small parts In a jar overnight. I had some
Very light pitting/surface rust on a chrome frame and i used some autosol metal polish and it lifted it off easily. For
More severe rust I think most people swear by an OA bath..

Oa bath can b3 a pain, if it's not too rough then peek & a Stanley knifes blade will sort it  :daumenhoch:

It's Naval jelly but with added sand, to get extra friction ;)

oxalic or citric acid bath OR stanley blade and a rough cloth with peek in if just a few patches

PEEK to polish (not as abrasive as Autosol)

and then finish off with a goddard's silver cloth (rub in one direction only ;)  )

extended question: HOW TO DO WITH INTERNAL RUST?
I have an haro master with lot of  internal rust, externally chrome is in very good shape
there is a way to protect it?
