Title: Whats the largest chainring you can run on a bmx?
Post by: oldschoolace on January 04, 2014, 08:47 PM
Ok so lets say i have just applied to Guiness to achieve a land speed record on a bmx  ;)

Assuming i went with the principle of this guy with a big fookoff chainring:

Not a valid vimeo URL
Keeping it oldschool whats the largest chainring you could run on an unaltered bmx frame, and any idea which frame would give the most clearance? :D

Would 48-9 not be enough for starters, or are we talking laughably huge gearing here?
