Hi guys
This turned up today and thought was just a 79 goose but the T on serial tells me its a rare none flat chain stay September 79 Team goose??
Anyone clarify as I thought all none flat chain stay ones were 77ish....(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/a7asa8yg.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/a8u3u6az.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/nuzejyge.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/07/ururevaj.jpg)

Steve, the only way to be 100% sure on this would to strip it and wiegh it mate. Mongoose used to put the stamp on the BB's before, during and after fabrication so it could be either..... tragically I suspect without the flattend rear stay it's not and they just grabbed a pre-stamped BB when fabbing it up, but you could be lucky :-\
I'll dig out a picture of my '78 Team frame stripped down on the scales for you to check against if it helps bud :daumenhoch:

Very nice all the same. Kap has one with flattened rear stays.

Hi, they did make some team frames without the flat stay, a motomag rear stay tubing has a 1.9mm wall thickness and a team frame is around 1.4mm, you can measure this at the rear drop out area with a digital vernier

Cheers mate will do tonight....

The frame is a super :daumenhoch: If it was a team it would have come standard with team forks.
I think it's a sep 79 nickel supergoose, supers were nickel upto about June 80 then they were a frosty chrome, in about June 81 when they changed to the later rear drop outs and were show chrome.
I'm not sure on the forks though, I know that early 77-79 supers had tange pinch forks but it seems a little late not to have team forks but it has no flat chain stay either so they could be correct.
A nice find :daumenhoch:

No sorry for some silly reason I thought it was March 79 :idiot2:, Sep 79 had no coaster tab so that's correct.
The forks may be close to the date of the frame but may not be the same month as they were probably lying around and the first set picked up when a frame was built.
If the forks are a different year they were probably not matched with the frame, this code can be hard to read though .

Sweet... checking now bud... great info. Thanks

They look like regular motomag pinch forks
Super and team goose had the same style dropouts as forks on early cali's, expert's etc.
