Title: Torker pro x 1986 as new
Post by: Powley84 on January 12, 2014, 01:29 PM
I have a pro x from 1986 i believe that has been in my loft for about 20 years. It is white with gold mx1000s, tech 3 levers, torker cranks and seat, acs stem, acs z rims with comp 3s, diamond back bars, oakley grips, mks pedals and mirage torker plate. All parts were new bankrupt stock that my brother located, the bike has never been used. Anyone know what its worth?

If you're wishing to sell it on the forum, you need to get yourself a site supporters tag, for the tiny fee of £10.  :daumenhoch:

I pad and i phone but having trouble adding pics as it says the file is to big. Not the best with either so might have to use my laptop later to add pics. Nobody including my brother who works for vans and is heavily involved in the skate scene has any idea on the value.  I have  2 cruisers i ride so dont have the space or need for the torker really.

Get the Tapatalk app mate, then you can add pics straight to this or any thread from your device. Or you'll have to use photobucket and copy and paste the image code. :daumenhoch:

I dont know the exact type as i am no torker expert, all i can  tell you is the chain wheel is black with a chrome 5 spoke centre. The cranks are chrome with torker written in black.

Thanks, it really is what it is. I didn't pay peanuts for it nearly 20 years ago and I know it is a quite rare bike. I can't really keep it though, have 2 cruisers and a mtb plus 3 cars. Just to much stuff.

That minty Torker labelled seat has got to be worth a pretty penny on its own.... Very nice :)

Bloomin eck, i've got a nice one on my rider. The Torker lettering is faded but a new sticker would sort that out.

Looking at the frame number the p means it is a pro x so 1184 mean november 1984?

Post by: Wez on January 14, 2014, 10:20 PM
any torker pre october 1984 would start with taa**** * , any after would be number like this and made in Taiwan, my Torker Magnum has the same number layout as this ProX

Mate you are probably better parting it out...potentially minimum return is £100+ for the brakes, £100+ for the Z rims and I'm guessing a minimum of £200.00 for the frame & forks if they are totally original .... Then there's the pedals, seat, grips all worth a fair bit too.....

Anyone agree/disagree ?
Just putting my opinion out there based on what I've seen lately ?

I'd say more £500 on the frame and forks . It is original and NOS . Radman got £750 for his re chromed one

I enquired over the seat, as I would love to put it on a Pro X of mine. Its a lovely seat.  My offer would have been over £100.  I also suggest splitting to maximise return as I assumed that the reason for this thread was advice on selling the Pro X. Completes are so subjective its unlikely you'll build to someone else's wish list, but I admire your resolve and the fact that you'll keep it if no one wants it the way you put it together 20 years ago.  :daumenhoch:

Craigs valuation of the frame set is bob on IMO.

Cheers, I am in no rush to sell it so it can just sit in my spare room until I get a good offer.
