-
Very nice! Is that a powerlite stem? (dib dobs ;)
it IS a Powerlite stem and its a minter :4_17_5: I MAY change it for a shafted TNT or similar :daumenhoch:
-
And how is this any different to the one you sold?
-
And how is this any different to the one you sold?
More purpler :teef:
-
And how is this any different to the one you sold?
Because the one he sold was re-done. This thing is oozing Mid school with the parts and colours. I would have done exactly the same. How often do you see PMC hubs and rims for starters
Great buy :4_17_5:
-
PMC? I dont even know what they are?
I liked the one you sold Ed
This looks nice as well though
-
PMC? I dont even know what they are?
They were a US bike parts manufacturer that only ran for a couple of years (93ish till 96?) that made proper nice parts - race stuff mainly - you'll have seen the seat clamps they did before Rob - they're the ones with a large hole either side of the clamp.
Didn't they make bearingless cranks as well?
Great score btw Ed :4_17_5:
*edit* here's a linky to a bit of background Rob:

Nice I had a thing for purple and green mid 90,s :4_17_5:
-
come on Rob... theres a whole section of BMX you are missing out on!
PMC mmmmmmm :smitten: most expensive hub you could buy in 94 ( waits to be corrected ... )
-
Leave rob alone
Us burner men stick together :LolLolLolLol:
-
And how is this any different to the one you sold?
Like Terry said Rob ... this one just reeks of 94 and is original finish / decals with mint parts 8) wot are more purplar.
...plus Richie called the other one a fookin Night Burner so it HAD to go :buck2:
-
You would'nt want to catch your ankle on those cranks while pedaling they would slice a piece off every time.
Mind you once you had done it once you would pedal with bandy legs. :LolLolLolLol:
-
most expensive hub you could buy in 94 ( waits to be corrected ... )
You got a price on those hubs Ed? I passed up a NOS set in green a couple of weeks back :crazy2: ;D
-

You got a price on those hubs Ed? I passed up a NOS set in green a couple of weeks back :crazy2: ;D
...I've already dismissed my own remark as the Technique hubs were more ( approx $160 ) but the PMC were a heady $140  ... steep for 94.
-
See I told you purple and green its the way forward or backwards depending on how you look at it. :crazy2:

amazing packing ... took me ages to get it out!
I'm loving the minty purple anno GT headset, JP cages on the Crupi peds, mint GT profiles and Dirt Research seat :smitten:
Hoping the wheels turn up soon :daumenhoch:

Sean ... you are such a Tiger >:D
Someone on here wants the Powerlite so I think that could be the plan ... but I'm lovin its XXLness compared to the XL Profile.

TNT Knopfler :D

TNT Knopfler :D
thanks :knuppel2: :bellend:
-
Rich & Olly are biggin up the Powerlite on Instagram ... decisions decisions ???
-
Powerlite, way more sexierer :daumenhoch:
-
Powerlite has the curves Ed. 100% way better looking than the plain Profile :daumenhoch:
-
Powerlite would be era correct, the profile isn't and it would drop the bars by about an inch without a spacer fitted
Stick with the powerlite ed :daumenhoch:
-
Powerlite all day long :daumenhoch:
-
Only the ultra-cool use a Powerlite stem Ed, here is mine on my Auburn....

Both are era correct Mark :daumenhoch: I've got '94 BMX Plus mags with the stem in a Profile ad.
Gonna have to try it with both and see what works :-)
-
Your Auburn is late 80s Sean ... mine is 94 ... are they both era correct?

Those profile stems are but ugly Ed. Ive never seen one on a bike where I thought it lived with the rest of the build. You can put a profile sprocket on any bike and it just looks right. Put a profile shafted stem on a bike and it just looks out of place.
If it was my bike Id get rid of both an hunt down a GT dimple Pro XL. Match made in heaven when combined with an Auburn. :smitten:
-
Go with the profile-I've got 6 of those powerlite stems-all fook ugly :D
-
Ed, they made the 1" Powerlite stem from 90 all the way upto 95, in 95 they also produced a 1 1/8" stem.
So good for both our bikes (mine is a 1990).

thanks Sean ... thought yours was earlier for some reason :idiot2:
You are right Jon ... and nice GT or TNT would be sweet
-
powerlite is lovely :daumenhoch:

powerlite is lovely :daumenhoch:
that fooking seals it :4_17_5:
Powerlite stays :daumenhoch: ... for now ... I would be tempted by a GT or TNT tho ::)
-
A nice GT to go with the minty GT profiles would look sensual.
Soz Ed :LolLolLolLol:

Soz Ed :LolLolLolLol:
Not totally convinced that a man wth a 'face made for violence & porn' ( quote? ) is well placed to judge 'sensuality' ... but then again ;D
Will keep an eye out for some GT goodness :daumenhoch:

Powerlite, Only because I dont want you too strip the Red Profile. :buck2:

In my experience Auburns were pretty tough bits of kit. A number of my friends had them BITD, and I never saw one crack. One buddy in particular rode trails on his (and raced every weekend) and it never skipped a beat. The other two only raced theirs, but either way, all 3 were sound bikes. :daumenhoch:

I think a fair few of the alloy Works Link rear ends did crack if they were abused ... I've gone for a Cro-mo rear to carry my 'slender' frame.

I've rode, raced and jumped mine and its one of the bikes I've owned that I have confidence in. I don't think the forks had a bomb proof rep but your gonna have to do something pretty stupid badly to bend em I recon.
crupi stems are fookin lovely on any mid bike but the perfect stem for an auburn, IMO, would be a GT dimple pro, the powerlite is a close 2nd, but its always good to tweak as you go anyway. looking forward to seeing this complete :daumenhoch:
-
gt dimple all the way, pro size, :daumenhoch:
-
hi folks I have a auburn cr20r that I raced in 93 but I don't know what year it is how would I find out what year it Is
