Hi folks,
I teach 'RM' woodwork and metalwork in a school and one of my year 11 students wanted to make a piece of furniture that would fit into a bike shop/trendy cafe or man cave.
This is what we have come up with so far. Not finished yet, a couple of nice stickers to apply.
Let me know what you radster think because he can use the feedback as part of his evaluation. :daumenhoch:

Thanks Sid.

I think it is really cool :4_17_5:
Personally though, from a practical point of view, you might want to lose the grip area on the bars as they will constantly get knocked, thus knocking the table.
-
Thanks fella, we have thought about trimming the bars right down and just fit the odi end caps to plug them up. ;)
-
dib dobs :LolLolLolLol:
very cool I'm with u and terry on cutting dem bars down :daumenhoch:
-
I like that, would look cool in a cafe :4_17_5:
-
That's ace :4_17_5:
Bru :daumenhoch:
-
Cool :daumenhoch:
agree on cutting the bars down. If you lost just enough so the grip flanges met the trapezoid it should bring them within the width of the tyre and look more balanced :daumenhoch:
Sorry, i know this sounds a bit dictatorial but i design furniture for a living and cant help it :LolLolLolLol:

Tell him well done, where abouts is the school ?
-
thanks fellas, for the imput. Keep it coming James will love the feedback.
Pete, Thrybergh School and Sports College in Rotherham. ;)

I think it looks cool :daumenhoch: I like anything that's away from the norm and thinks outside the box :4_17_5:
ps. would it of been more stable had you turned the CW bars over and a bigger footprint giving you three points of contact on the floor?

That's what I was thinking, wouldn't have to trim bars then, top job :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

Thats great! Just wish I could teach my lot and be able to bring BMX into it! Nice one. :daumenhoch:
-
Really creative is that, great job & I'd buy one :daumenhoch:
-
I like that very inventive a few minor adjustments and it will be perfect :daumenhoch:
I'd buy one too :)
-
Nice :4_17_5:
-
Looks cool :daumenhoch:
Get him to knock a few up and get to MK
-
He's done a great job there and very creative. I really like it :daumenhoch:
-
I wouldn't cut the bars down. I would turn them upside down so they don't stick off the floor.
Nice creation I like it. :4_17_5:
-
At last a pair of cw's where they belong.....on the floor being kicked! Ugly fookers :D
Nice work though :daumenhoch:
-
Great job :LolLolLolLol: :coolsmiley:
Better with the bars flipped :daumenhoch:
-
That's cool Sid 8)
He could use two sets of forks back to back and do away with the bars altogether :-\
-
::) thanks for the comments and feedback guys - as I say, he can you these for his evaluation. Plus he loves BMX, having comments from radster will put a smile on his face.
keep em coming.. :4_17_5: :4_17_5:

Great work.
The old school photos under the glass are a great idea too. Are the photos easy to swap or are they fixed for good? If they can be swapped, people could personalise the table for themselves with their own pics, race pics, feestyle pics, old school pics etc.
Is there any chance of adding a brake lever to operate as a tap to pour yourself a beer - perfect!
-
:daumenhoch:
that looks great , superb and creative bit of work , how about using a second pair of forks back to back instead of the bars ?
:)
-
nice! im with harodave tho, even three sets of forks as feet. still cool tho but looks unstable.
-
thanks guys - It's really stable tbh.
Most of the bits have come from strap, having identical forks would have offered more options so he can use your suggestions as future developments plans. :daumenhoch:
It was a case of this is what we have, how can we put them together? - Scrapyard challenge in action. ;)

Yes that's the 2nd thing I noticed 8)
The 1st thing I noticed was what a great idea, I love seeing stuff reused from its original purpose..
Years ago I used to go to Alpine Sports & then Alpine Action for Skate & BMX stuff & along the road from Alpine Sports was a shop called Slick Willies I think, they used to sell all stuff from the US & they used baseball bats as door handles on the front shop door, very cool I thought 8)

That's well cool Sid.
Tell him well done on a great job. :slayer:
