OK so seeing as RADBMX is 10 years old this year, I was wondering what your first build was when getting back into this sport/hobby.
It can be your first one on RADBMX or your first build back on the scene.
Just one build please not your favourite etc, just your first.
Oh and for a laugh (or to make you cry), for those that built that 1st build a long time ago near the beginning of this site, how much did it cost you?
I will start.
This is my very first build when getting back into BMX, 1984 Skyway T/A which cost me the following: Frame & Forks £50.00, flight cranks £40, MX1000's front and rear £20.

My first build was an 87 haro fsx, from ebay, that had been competely drenched with matt black paint. i stripped it all with nail varnish remover, and to see the old war wounded paint appering from underneath, along with the fsx decals was a joy to behold. Alloy hubbed tuffs too, all for £80. Shame you canr pick up bargains like that anymore.

I spotted the team colours among among a pile of old bikes, I thought might it be an Team Aero Pro but alas no it was a humble Team Replica.

Apart from my Skyway TA, which I've had since 1984, this was the first NOS build I put together. Parts mainly from Alans and Skatepool. 85 Haro sport. I guess the cost was just over £400. Not a bargin, but less than a NOS build would cost today.
-
Wish I still had this too! :(

I think it stood me at 250/275 quid if I remember right!

First bike I bought to build is still in boxes and has never been built up, an 85 Haro Master bought from Skatepool in 2004. I guess at some point it will be built, maybe soon seeing as I have all the parts now although I have had all the parts since about 2010!
First built bike was my ELF although this was bought as a complete but I pretty much changed everything bar the seatpost, F&F and Bars....

This was my first build in 2012, an 81 mongoose motomag CA1 .
I bought the frame and forks from a guy in Michigan US and it had been in the rafters of his parent's garage for 26 years, along side it was a kuwahara E.T..
The frame and forks were in very good condition apart from scratches to the original decals and paint.
I sold this 4 months after building it.
It also had the original shop decal on the seat post mast from Luddington cycles Michigan.
This picture was taken just after I built it, the handlebars went back a bit and the seat post was lowered about 2" after riding it :daumenhoch:
