Before anyone comments, I'm not allowing this to be a thread about how much he charges for stuff, he has the right to charge whatever he likes, it's up to the buyer to decide what they want to pay.
If anything, I think some of the prices on his eBay listings aren't too bad considering.
I'm more interested in the service you get. I've not tried to buy anything for 2 years off him since I went to buy some NOS orange Tuff pads, paid immediately, waited, waited a bit more, waited a little bit more, then emailed him, only to get a reply that the pads I'd bought and paid for were out if stock and would I prefer the longer newer type, or a refund? I opted for a refund, which took ages to get back. ::)
All I want to know is, is he worth taking a punt on?
A lot can change in 2 years, and this thread may result in good feedback.
Over to you consumers. ???

I ordered 2 headsets from eBay, and waited 2 weeks then I got a message saying they had been dispatched, another week passed and still nothing had turned up so I messaged him and didn't hear anything for a further two days where he said they had been posted out to me that morning. :idiot2:
They did finally turn up the next day. It took 3 weeks 3 days. So if you want something fast I would stay well clear. :daumenhoch:

not had owt off him for about 5 year now Dan.never had a problem with him before TBH but a few seem too.

As I feared Stu, I'll be wary IF ordering off him then. :daumenhoch:

His comms aren't the best mate, and to me as a buyer, that's very important. I don't mind if someone's says that there will be a delay in getting my stuff out, but if they can't even answer an email then that just out of order IMHO. :daumenhoch:

I haven't used him for a while, the last time I waited & waited & messaged, then had to file a paypal dispute, once I did this my stuff turned up + a first as far as I know, some FREE, yes FREE I said valve caps
& he apologised in person when he saw me at the VW show & I have to say I've never really had a bad experience with him apart from the above & have got loads from him over the years.
-
It depends what way the wind is blowing, he's always been all over the place.
I've dealt with him three times, two flawless transactions on low value items and one terrible experience over a high value item.
I tried to order a pair of wheels but he tried to give me a right royal shafting over shipping to NI by about £40-50 so didn't order them in the end.
If he had something I wanted and I was happy with the price I'd give it a go as you're covered by paypal anyway :daumenhoch:

not had a problem in 12 years of buying from him ...... :daumenhoch:

I just bought something from him recently as it was only available from his eBay store - I paid 24 hour courier and got the stuff at least 10 days later... when I followed up a few days after my purchase it took a couple of days to get a response and the reason was apparently he'd gone on an unexpected trip overseas (these things happen and I didn't kick up a fuss). I was given a date when my item would be despatched and it arrived a day or so after that. It ended well and I didn't need the item that urgently but after paying for a 24 hour courier I felt that amount should have been refunded as a goodwill gesture but hey ho, those kinds of things seldom happen...
I've had other stuff from him before and generally it's been ok - he's service is never as good as most other ebay sellers I buy from such as Alans which don't charge for postage and the stuff arrives the next day!
In conclusion, dear reader - Neutral position but I'd probably buy from him again unless I did actually need it in 24 hours.
:)
-
Basically he's. safe bet if he's updated his listings on eBay, and the stuff is in stock, and if you're in no rush for it. :daumenhoch:
-
I bought a gold sugino style stem off him just over a week ago and it turned up in 3 days :daumenhoch: I have bought other stuff and have had a message saying its out of stock and in that case he just refunds the money ;)

Nad
I've had a couple of headsets Of him via ebay, certainly not next day delivery but good enough.
-
Most of the parts for my first build came from him. Generally buy 1-2 items a year off him. My advice is buy from his ebay listings, as they tend to be more upto date than his website. I've bought things from the website, never received them, and never got a reply when I tried to email him. Had to contact him via ebay in the end. Got my money back, as the item ended up being out of stock.. The hubs for my Peugeot Black Lion and the hubs for my almost finished Hutch were bought from him via ebay. I would buy from him again, but only as a last resort.
-
Purchased a few parts over the years from both ebay and website and never had a problem. :)
-
The last time I bought from him I bought and paid for the item on a Wednesday. On the Friday, I bought and paid for something else that my mate wanted.
I specifically ordered the items apart knowing the one my mate wanted would turn up boxed and I would just forward it on.
The fooker bunged the items in the same box and had charged for 2 lots of postage.
When I argued the toss with him, he wouldn't have it. No refund of postage cost, no more purchases from me :daumenhoch:
-
Ordered a rebuild kit for a loose bearing tuff off him Monday worked out 50% more than getting one from Australia but I wanted it quick.
Got a refund on Tuesday saying sorry out of stock :4_17_5: :LolLolLolLol:

I've bought many items from him over the years....on ebay for items such as chainrings, headsets and pegs etc never had any trouble...only ever as a last resort I have bought stuff from the "website" and only ever after I've chatted to him to confirm he's got what I want and for an exact price from him. I think this is the way forward if you want something specific Dan. I bought a very nice nos seat off him last year for a big wedge but I had no problems with the deal.
He can blow very hot and cold depending on what you're spending and how busy he is making money from his many projects.
It's pure business with him and that's just the way it is.
I know this thread isn't about prices but no-one is oblidged to be fair with their prices.....after seeing some of the prices of people's first build's there must be many people out there hoarding stuff which they got for peanuts which is now worth a small fortune.
IMO proceed but with extreme caution Dan :coolsmiley:
TBH I always feel a little dirty and slightly soiled after I've had to deal with him :LolLolLolLol:
It always feels like you are selling a bit of your soul when you buy parts from him ;)
-
For me , the key to any good deal is communication ......... he sadly lacks in that department imo ::) .... and while were on about departments , i don't think he has a customer service one :D
Just my thoughts on the few deals i have had with him .
-
Sadly, as you can see on eBay, it's far too easy to set up a business like this with no business or communications skills to speak of. I certainly don't think he sets out to screw people, but for my mind, if you set up a business you are obligated to check mails, respond to people in a timely manner etc etc. Haven't been on the website in ages, but it was always a joke. One price on an item, yet when you clicked to pay it mysteriously jumped up in price or wasn't in stock even if it said it was. That's just poor in my book for a supposed 'business'. Price things as you want, people will soon vote with their feet, but at least keep your site up to date and communicate with people properly.

Just thought would throw my two penneth in. I have spent a lot with him over the last two years and got some amazing items.
I have not got a bad word to say about him. He has some incredibly rare bits and without him I would not have finished two builds.
His prices are high end, but so are his items. I currently have him trying to track me a couple of things down that I just cannot find for any price.
He gets a thumbs up from me. :daumenhoch:

Seems like he blows hot and cold.......... Just bought a couple of odds and ends via eBay and received them 2 days later. Great service.
Then I just read the description on this: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201034177221&globalID=EBAY-GB
No smoke without fire, but so far I've had no problems.......

from what i remember he got stuff you might struggle to find elsewhere - so you better be humble and nice - cuz he can afford to be a prick - cuz he got stuff you'll struggle to find elsewhere - from what i remember ;)
i might have to buy some sticker off him ---- anybody got his email ?
-
I have bought/ordered a few bits off his website in the past few years
and they either arrive no problem or I get an email saying
not in stock! but havnt tried buying owt for a while now.
And the price gong up at checkout has only been the postage on top in my experience
-
I bought a particular spider and chainring off him which were to replicate a build and he didn't have them listed and when I rung him he said he was sure he had them and he'd have a look in his store place and he sorted me out and it was about30 quid which even on here it would have been similar so I found him ok to be honest and pretty helpful
-
I have never had any trouble with biagio apart from sometimes he keeps me waiting in the cold whilst he is on the phone :LolLolLolLol: I generally go and pick my bits up from him as I don't live a million miles away and have known him a while now

The day I suck anyones A hole because they have some kids bike parts will be a cold day in Hell. Treat people as you would want to be treated. You can always pick up most things somewhere else if you have the patience :daumenhoch:

The last time I ordered from his site I ordered two items. He sent one so I emailed, then emailed again
Then just thought feck it and started the pp dispute. ( you don't have to wait)
It turned up within a couple of days.
I wouldn't hesitate to use him again but transactions like these I have encountered from sellers have taught me to use the protection your given.
Start the dispute at the same time you message with your concern.
Sadly your courteous emails don't carry the same weight as pending action from PayPal.

I ordered something at the weekend and
It arrived yesterday,i can't falt the service

Exactly, what i meant was politeness cost you nuttin. Of course it also don't help if the guy's a total prong, and my experience is rather old anyway. Just don't be cocky when you're dealing wth him, that,s what i meant
...and to use chapstick
