I've got to admit that when I saw the anniversary frames , I thought it was a bit of a 'money over substance' thing . A lot of cash for something ,that in most cases would sit in a box until prices went up (or not ) and then knocked on. Obviously not by everyone , but for a lot, it was an investment piece that would never be built.
Then this came up...  Raw , untouched , different to the Norm and as it stands , the only one in the world (Spens has tweaked geometry on the back end ).
I'm planning on keeping it raw ( if I chrome it , it will just be frame 301 and the same as the rest), however it will need a good sort out and I'm not sure the forks will be be good enough as they've not been polished prior to welding and surface rust is starting to show through.
I'm not really into building ,as I don't get time and end up flogging the stuff I've planned, as I get sick of shifting it about. This will deffo be built though, I have an '85 sport ready to go ,but I think I'll rob some of the stuff from that and mix in some newer stuff I've got and get this rideable. It's not old school, it's not new, so I can't see it matters how it's built , a mix of each in my eyes, what are your thoughts?

Raw , raw! Just lacquered and decal'd up. I'm going to try and get some Bottema decals made up in the Haro colours for the forks :daumenhoch:

So glad & a bit pi$$ed off at the same time that I missed these two. Never even fancied a haro or similar,  bit to mainstream for, me these really appealed to me though as they're a bit special & good to know they are both staying that way

Bang tidy bargains if you ask me too...........
Look forward to seeing the build  :daumenhoch:

I also got a factory 2nd from John Buultjens at Haro who I've know for years, he contacted me on FB asking if I was interested in it & for what it cost it was a steal  8)

I was thinking of building it up as a rider with Tuffs, Profile anniversary box cranks, Skyway RACE bars & a Profile Lockjaw stem, but it's going to cost around £1K to build it right, so it might just go on the wall.

The only reason why it's a 2nd is two small marks on the seat-tube which have been chromed over, apart from that it's mint  :smitten:

Small marks about 30mm below the seat-tube decal

Must say I do like the raw Frames, I saw maybe this one in Cologne in 2012  8)

Nice, I had to get replacement forks for my Anniversary frame and fork as the left leg was longer than the right one as it had been welded about 5mm lower on the steerer tube!

Beautiful framesets, which took every single inch of will power not to dib on when they came up

Spen and Mark will do them justice I'm sure, and Dom, if you're reading, if a survivor 84 Sport in chrome comes up I'm here  :-*

Polish it up using wire wool and autosol don't go too near the scorch marks they'll polish off

Then a couple of coats of clear lacquer, jobs a good un  :daumenhoch:

The surface rust coming through on the forks... Once cleaned up and lacquered , will the laquer hold it back , or will it come back through?

I was told by SBD not to use wire wool as little bits stick to the frame & can't be seen until it's lacquered, then it leaves an uneven surface  :(

Fookin hell, I met some shady fooker in a beemer on a hotel car park one time whose back seat was sporting a GT pro. Wonder if it's the same bloke.  ???

Glad for you both.  :daumenhoch: They'll look sweet polished up them.

Just been speaking to my old man ( he used to be a sprayer ) . He reckons if we use any of the above , it will take off the burn marks etc and the only way to stop the laquer peeling off , is to key it first which will then ruin the desired finish?
Bit confused really as I don't want lose too much of the burn marks as that's what sets it apart ?
I'll take it to a paint shop next week , see what they say.
Step up SBD ... What'd you reckon?
