Get some pics up, it will help to give a more accurate diagnosis mate.

My guess, without seeing them, is dye them.  :daumenhoch:

Have any of you guys ever used this on plastic parts??? My old weinman adjuster has a greyish tinge and was gonna use this on it cos it works superb on car trim.

just a thought.

Ahh right, yeah dye em. didnt realise they had that much fade on em. I think the Meg`s stuff youd have to keep applying from time to time.

never tried it mate but could be worth a go,you reckon to dye these, jesus they would end up a real disaster am not joking,i found fine wire wool so might try it ,i wonder would brake fluid do anything or industrial paint stripper...hmmmmm dont really want to destroy these.

i would say dont use wire wool, paint stripper or brake fluid on them. im not right up on plastic restoring but im sure youll do more harm than good with those methods.

You could try aqua blasting , not as harsh as bead blasting . Some lads have had good results on Skyways  ;)

Defo not brake fluid or anything like that.

Dying them is easy, I've done 2 sets, they were both black, but both successful.

You shouldn't need to go too far doing these.

You need a big plastic tub, I got mine from B&Q for £12, 2 packs of Rit dye available off eBay and 2 containers of table salt from the supermarket, you also need a wallpaper steamer that you can remove the bit that makes contact with the wall leaving a tube only.

Andy (dancetothebummersbeat) did some blue Z's last year for his Adidas build, pm him mate.

My nos blue Z's had a similar effect.  Maybe the fading wasn't quite so bad, but a good wd40 soaking and they look great on the bike.

so how much of WD40 do you need, then what ya do with it after use,ive yellow ones aswell that might need it ...tell me this if i was to rebuild a rim using the radial lace what size of spokes would ya use for small flanges and large ones.

yeah thats what i used on the mike buff rims, but if i was to do it in a radial way if you know what i mean, what size of spokes is needed to do it that way on small flange and large flange hubs.

tell me is it rit dye or dylon dye that works best for dying the z rims, and what would be the best blue to go for to go on these rims etc,i am going to try soaking them in wd 40,but how long do you leave them in for,god bet you guys think i a such a plum lol asking stupid questions :D

i think - but not sure- that STIDDS SPOKE LENGTH CALCULATOR ....ALSO works for RADIAL lacing
->http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,136816.0.html

i.e you use 0 for that parameter ................... but someone PLEASE confirm this "help"

edit: ....yep ---- i just checked, works for radial

I bought a large plastic shrub planter from Wilkinsons for a tenner. Dyed my rims, then returned the tub for a refund.  Here's my dye thread

a bit of very light abrasion, a scouring or brillo pad, some decent fine wire wool, micro mesh, nothing that's going to leave lines, then dye em. you can use a bin bag or some other plastic sheeting in a box, as long as there are no joins or holes in that shit that sit under the water.
water, dye, salt + time.
don't use brake fluid for anything, don't get it near paint.

i wondered if you were an alter ego of hunterdubber, i just sold him a set exactly like them. ???

LOL no i got mine of ebay along with a yellow pair, ive tried the soaking them in wd40 so i will see how that has worked and if not it has to be the dyeing technique, which i know for a fact it wouldnt work for me :D but would give it a shot anyway.

cheers
